• Kitchen/dining room - fully equipped Farmhouse style kitchen and dining area - with dishwasher, microwave, central cooking position with hob, electric fan assisted oven, and fridge freezer and wood burning stove
• Utility room - with central heating boiler, washing machine &  iron.
• Outside terrace - with access from dining area complete with 8 person teak garden furniture & sun-loungers
• Large double bedroom – ideally suited to the less mobile
• Large ground floor - bathroom - with WC washbasin and walk-in shower.

Above the ground heated pool 4.6m diameter, 1.2m depth. Heated from 1st June-31st August. For heating at other times please enquire with owners

About the location

The house is in the small village of Magny les Aubigny where there is a church, Mairie and village pond. The nearest town is St. Jean de Losne, which is approximately 6km away and has all amenities including several restaurants. Situated on the edge of the Saone valley, St. Jean is the inland waterways capital of France, with boating and sailing available.

To the west is the Cote d'Or, one of the most prestigious wine growing areas in France. Beaune, Nuits St George and Gevrey Chambertin are all within an easy drive.

Thirty minutes away is the university town of Dole - the birthplace of Louis Pasteur. It has a wealth of interesting historical features as well as superb shopping.

This culturally rich region is also famed for excellent wines and fine food. The specialities such as Boeuf a la Bourguignonne and Coq au Vin make use of the local wines. Magret de Canard and the drink Kir have Cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) as a major ingredient. The river Saone provides fresh water fish, pike, and perch for the fish stew Pochouse and the tiny fish used in friture.

The local markets provide a variety of regional wines and food and an opportunity to practice your French in an informal setting and sample French life. There are many fetes (celebrations for onions, sugar, blackcurrants etc.) during the year and these provide an excellent insight in to the French way of life.

The Morvan forest has ample opportunities for walking and mountain biking and is only 30 km to the south-west.

How to get here

La Maison Brûlée is easily accessible from the major Autoroutes. It is about five hours drive from ferry or tunnel ports.

Using the train is very convenient; the Eurostar via Lille or Paris and the TGV to Dijon - a local train connects to St Jean de Losne (only 6 km from La Maison Brûlée).
