2 Charming Gites with Pool and Pyrénéan Views

La Borde, is a charming, traditional farming domaine, dating back to the 13th Century. Set in more than 11 acres of grounds amidst beautiful verdant, rolling countryside with views to the Pyrénéan Mountains.  La borde with its two family run gites, is perched on a little promontory on the edge of the pretty village of Peyrefitte sur l'Hers. With our large pool, games room and boule area you can always find some thing to do, or just relax and read, and enjoy the quiet coutryside

La Borde offers an idyllic holiday venue whether you just want to sit by the large family pool or explore the region.

Holiday Accommodation at Le Grenier à foin

Le Grenier à foin is a tastefully renovated former hayloft with exposed stone walls and wood beams. The front door opens into

  • The kitchen and dining area - which consists of a well equipped kitchen, with washing machine, dishwasher, electric cooker with gas hob, fridge, table and chairs. A door leads to
  • A bedroom - which has two single beds, wardrobe, cupboards and a doorway to the private bathroom with shower, washbasin and WC.

    • Stairs from the dining area lead to the first floor, which has views over the pool, rolling countryside and the Pyrenean mountains.

  • The upstairs sitting room - with exposed stonework and beams, is furnished with a sofa and chairs, TV, CD player, radio etc. A doorway leads to the
  • Master bedroom - with double bed, wardrobe, cupboards and door leading to the private bathroom - with shower, washbasin and WC. This bedroom also has views over the countryside and wooded hills to the north.

    • All bed linen, bath and hand towels are supplied. Towels can be hired for pool use at a small charge and must be arranged at time of confirmation. Cots, high chairs, and stair gates can also be arranged, please request at time of booking. Logs are supplied for the winter months.

    Outside

    The heated pool 14 metres by 6 metres, enjoys a sheltered position and has superb views over the countryside and the Pyrenean Mountains.

    With 11 acres of ground surrounding La Borde you can always find somewhere quiet to sit and read, or bird watch, paint or just enjoy the countryside. For those who are more energetic, table tennis, baby foot, pétanque and pool can be played.

    The owners have two donkeys at La Borde, Coffee and Toffee, both who have a passion for polo's and making mischief. Cycles can be borrowed when available, please ask.

    About Salles Sur L Hers in Aude, Languedoc Roussillon

    Not so far away from Castelnaudary, Peyrefitte s/hers is a beautiful little village in the Lauragais.

    Salle sur l'Hers is the nearest large village and is 5 km from Peyrefitte sur l'Hers. It has a village shop, newsagents, butchers, bakers, pharmacy, doctors, dentist, and also a bar and restaurant. Belpech is 10 km from Peyrefitte sur l'Hers, and has all the amenities as Salle sur l'Hers as well as a market every Wednesday morning in the village centre. 

    Come and discover La Piege, a micro-region in the Lauragais, in the department of the Aude, one of the last almost unchanged and until recently undiscovered corners of France. It is tucked away between the Canal du Midi, and the Pyrénéan Mountain range.
