A selection of charming accommodation with heated swimming pool nestled in the heart of the village of Fouqueure near Aigre, deep in the South West Charente region of France. La Couronne offers calm and relaxing surroundings within strolling distance of the local bakery, épicerie and bar. The accommodation has all been lovingly restored to blend traditional style with modern convenience.
The properties all have individual garden areas/ terraces for those wishing to eat al fresco and In the cool interior of each house soft comfy sofas provide the ideal place for that afternoon siesta.
The heated swimming pool (maintains an average temperature of 28 degrees throughout the summer) is surrounded by a pretty walled garden with a large stone barbecue and terraced area for those late evening cookouts. The summer weather in the Charente, an area renowned for endless hours of sunshine, will ensure that you find plenty of time to relax and soak up some rays.La Couronne has been designed with children in mind. The swimming pool is fenced, gated and also has a pool alarm for additional safety. The swimming pool is heated and is perfect for children who generally do not enjoy swimming in cold pools!
There is a communal garden adjacent to the swimming pool with plenty of space for ball games, badminton, giant garden snakes and ladders etc.. and a playhouse and seesaw for toddlers. There is also a large BBQ terrace with garden furniture as well as a marquee to relax under in the shade. For older children, there is a huge games room with table football, table tennis, darts,pool table, swing ball, petanque, quoits and many more games to keep everyone entertained. With the Charente river just a 5 minute drive away, those looking to catch their supper are catered for, as fishing equipment is provided free of charge (subject to availability). Our fitness area (exercise machines, free weights etc) is sure to appeal to those looking to keep in trim whilst on holiday and there are also 6 bikes to hire (subject to avail) for the more energetic.
