Two Attractive Cottages in the Quercy Countryside

Caufour is a group of 3 houses built in local stone and situated in 5 acres of mature gardens with fruit, walnut and other trees and a large meadow.  It has lovely views over the rolling hills in the heart of the Quercy countryside. The two cottages are independent and face their own private gardens with unspoilt views to the hills beyond. To the rear and sides of the cottages there are lawned areas for garden games and further tree-shaded spots to relax in. The owners live in the third house and look forward to welcoming you to Caufour.

Provided for both cottages are:

• All linen and towels.
• Garden furniture/sunshade.
• Barbecue.
• Television, video recorder.
• Iron and hairdryer.
• Cot, high chair if required.
• Board games, books, garden games e.g. badminton, table tennis, boules/petanque, croquet.
• Cool box and picnic ware.
• Tourist information/guides.

Holiday Accommodation at Le Grand Gîte

Le Grand Gîte was once a barn and has been completely renovated to give spacious and well appointed facilities on two floors, allowing for 4-5 people to be accommodated.

The Lot Tourist Board has awarded the cottage '3 étoiles'.

The main entrance from the terrace leads to the large living/dining area with beams and imposing central wooden staircase leading to a galleried landing. It retains many original features.

Ground floor

• Kitchen - is fully equipped including full sized cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave.
• Dining area - has a dining table and French windows leading on to a secluded south-west facing terrace shaded by a fig tree with lavender bushes.
• Lounge - has comfortable chairs around a large wood burning fireplace and additional seating around the television area.
• The spacious south-east facing covered terrace has a table and chairs with sunloungers and views over the rolling hills.
• There is free internet access via wifi or ethernet cable

First floor

• Bedroom - with double bed, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower and WC.
• Second bedroom - with twin beds, built-in wardrobes, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower.
• Separate WC 
• Mezzanine - with built-in cupboards, accommodates a single bed.

The cottage has gas central heating.

About Montcuq in Lot, Midi Pyrenees

It is a nature lover's paradise surrounded as it is with fields and woods of wild flowers, butterflies and birds which can be explored along quiet country paths. The clear night skies above Caufour are a delight for stargazers! The pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela runs close by. Caufour provides this peaceful haven and yet is well placed for visiting the medieval bastide villages - Montcuq with its imposing tower, restaurants offering local cuisine and renowned Sunday market and Lauzerte, stunningly situated on a hill, with its pretty arcaded square.

How To Get To Montcuq in Lot, South West France

Caufour is 28 km south west of Cahors.

Plane:  Toulouse and Bergerac airports are each 110 km, 80-90 minutes drive away. Bordeaux and Rodez airports are 2-3 hours drive.

Train: The nearest TGV (high speed train) station is at Toulouse. Our closest main line station is at Cahors.

Ferry/Car: Nearest ferry terminal is at St Malo (8 hrs) and furthest at Calais (10-12 hrs). Road directions on our website homepage.
