This cottage is located on the edge of Le Diben, a picturesque fisherman's village. In the commune of Plougasnou, this small working port sits out on a point on the eastern side of the Baie de Morlaix. The unspoilt coastline and surrounding area has all the attractions necessary for a memorable sea side holiday.

Situated in a very quiet area, the cottage is within walking distance of the port and a choice of beaches.

Accommodation detail

The property at Le Diben is a typical Breton rendered/stone cottage. Recently, new floors and a fitted kitchen were provided, and the whole was redecorated throughout in a manner which will be appreciated by the more discerning couples looking for above average accommodation at a reasonable price.

All at ground level, this light and airy cottage comprises -

• Kitchen - fitted with a gas cooker, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and all necessary cooking utensils.
• Utility room - with washing machine, drying area and the gas central heating boiler - all the rooms have radiators.
• Dining room - with table and chairs set by a large window with a view of the rocks at the Pointe de Primel.
• Sun lounge - west facing and reached by French windows, and furnished with a sofa, wicker easy chairs, coffee tables, bookcase and audio unit. This overlooks the garden and also has a view to Primel-Tregastel.
• Double bedroom - with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
• Twin bedroom - with pine beds and matching accessories.
• Shower room - with handbasin.
• Separate WC.
• Glazed double doors from the lounge give access to a patio area with dining table and chairs. There are also reclining chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue.

The garden has been planted with a variety of shrubs and trees. It is completely surrounded by hedges and/or fencing, making it secure and quite private. Off a quiet lane, double gates lead into a drive with plenty of space for parking.

About the location

Just a short drive away are many other interesting places to visit including historic towns, ports, ornamented Parish closes, galleries, museums, and for nature lovers, the Parc d'Amorique. Alternatively, if you are seeking a calm, relaxed holiday, then this could be the place for you.

In Le Diben there is a small general grocery shop which has bread, and there are fish retail outlets at the port. It is only a 5 minute drive to the market town of Plougasnou where you will find a supermarket, post office, pharmacy and numerous other shops. The ancient church of St. Pierre dominates the tree lined square, with cafe/bars and restaurants, in which a market is held every Tuesday morning.

A larger market can be found in Morlaix, plus a wider choice of shops and supermarkets. The restaurant at the local Hotel l'Abbesse, overlooking the bay at Le Diben, has a good menu which includes seafood. There are also two pleasant cafe/bars here, and an excellent Creperie in Primel-Tregastel

How to get here

Le Diben is about a 45 minute drive from the ferry port of Roscoff and the airport at Brest (serviced by flybe & Ryanair).

St Malo ferry port and Dinard airport (Ryanair) are 2 hours East.
