Four Spacious Houses with Heated Pool Close to Beach
Font Remy is the former Manor House of Le Petit Village, a peaceful hamlet 2km inland from the pretty fishing village of Mortagne-sur-Gironde near the mouth of the Gironde Estuary. The area benefits from a wonderful warm climate extending from March right through to October due to the effect of the Gulf Stream – in fact it is the second sunniest area in France after the Riviera.
The property has been tastefully converted into four very spacious, fully equipped houses sleeping 10, 10, 6 and 6 and is set in a walled garden of 2 acres with lovely views of the vineyards beyond. There are swings, boules, badminton, plenty of space for ball games, plus a games barn with table tennis, pool table, table football, dvd and book library, board games and WiFi. The highlight is the wonderful 15m x 8m heated swimming pool (fenced). The pool has 3m diameter Roman steps into the 1m shallow end and a 2.4m fun swimming deep end.
One of the things which distinguishes the houses at Font Remy from most other gites is the marvellous feeling of space, both inside and out. You can just feel the stresses and strains easing away! Each house at Font Remy could comfortably accommodate more people (just look at the size of some of the bedrooms) but we choose to restrict the numbers for the comfort of our guests. There are no triple rooms or bunk beds here!
All the houses have well-equipped kitchens with dishwasher, oven and hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, cafetiere and plenty of cutlery and crockery. The living rooms have satellite television and cd/dvd players. All have individual terraces with pergola, barbecue, table and chairs and sun loungers. All ground floor rooms have ceramic tiled floors and first floor rooms have polished wood floors.
