Home description

Where is it

Tarn-et-Garonne

Le Manoir St Antoine is a magnificent house set in enchanting and tranquil countryside. Dating back to 14th century, when it was believed to have been a fortress, it is built in traditional Quercy stone and has been beautifully restored to provide a truly relaxing holiday home. At the same time great care has been taken to preserve its distinctive character and charm.

The walls are a metre thick and all original features have been preserved including a wealth of beams and some fine stonework. There is a large new custom designed "infinity" pool (13m x 6m), providing fine views over the valley.

The Vault is situated on the lower ground floor of the main house and is completely self contained with its own entrance.

Le Manoir St Antoine is set on the outskirts of the small village of Bouloc. The historic medieval town of Lauzerte is just 8kms away while Montcuq, a picturesque bustling market town, is about the same distance. The city of Cahors, with its historical and Romanesque features, is a 30 minute drive and Toulouse about 1½ hours.

Nearby, as well as the quaint local villages to explore, there are chateaux and vineyards where visitors can sample the excellent wines. The fine local cuisine is a gastronomic adventure - renowned not least for its duck, goose and other such gourmet delights.

For the more energetic there are wonderful walks in the grounds and surrounding countryside. Tennis and golf are available nearby and bikes can be hired locally. Other activities include horse riding, boating, sailing, fishing and canoeing - for the very adventurous there is a parachute school at Bouloc!

Le Manoir St Antoine provides all the ingredients for a perfect "away from it all" holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of France.

A private driveway leads up to the property with outbuildings and barn to the left. The lawns and orchard provide a spacious play area. The large swimming pool (13m x 6m) has been designed to incorporporate a "horizon" deep end providing unbroken views over the valley. The swimming pool is operated on a modern saltwater filter system, ensuring clean water without the problems that can sometimes arise from chlorine and other harsh chemicals. Sunloungers, tables, parasols and pool toys are provided. Pool towels can be hired if required.  A raised deck area adjoins the pool and is ideal for outdoor dining or just relaxing and admiring the views.  The large surrounding terraces and barbecue area overlook woodland and meadows. Close by is the shower room with WC and laundry facilities.

Further outdoor dining areas can be found in the front and rear gardens. There are spacious lawns and an orchard where children can play. The adjoining woodlands, with their winding pathways, are a haven for a variety of birds, butterflies, flora and fauna.

The entire property has central heating throughout. All bed linen, towels and kitchen linen are provided. Large quality pool towels can be hired for a small additional charge.
