Home description

Le Val du Goth is situated in extensive parkland within 90 hectares of woodland. From the terrace there are beautiful views over to the swimming pool and across to the fishing lake and countryside beyond.

The quality of interior decoration and furnishings is excellent and the property offers a very high standard of accommodation, equally comfortable in both low and high seasons with the provision of full central heating and large open fireplaces.

The owners, Monsieur and Madame Pez, have converted the adjoining barn for their own home and whilst they will be "on the spot" for any queries they fully respect the privacy that holidaymakers require. They have a small terrace at the back of their accommodation but the grounds, pool and fishing lake are for your own exclusive use. Over the past 20 years many families have re-visited this lovely property.

• Open plan Kitchen/Dining room with steps up to the sitting room. The fully fitted kitchen has oak units, tiled worktops and floor, gas cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, sink, dishwasher, table and chairs. The dining area has a huge fireplace, table, chairs and natural wood flooring.
• Sitting room, with two doors onto the terrace. There is another large fireplace, sofa, chairs, TV corner with satellite TV, video and CD player.
• Utility room with washing machine, ironing board and freezer.
• "Library" Bedroom, now the master bedroom with double bed and single divan, en-suite shower room, door to terrace.
• Bathroom, with twin basins, bath with shower attachment and WC.

Outside

There is a paved terrace to the front and side of the farmhouse with garden tables, chairs and parasol and barbecue. There is a detached playroom located by the terrace, also table tennis and a children's swing.

Swimming Pool - a 12m x 6m, 2.20m deep, pool with diving board, surrounded by a terrace with 4 sunbeds, is situated just below the house and is fitted with safety alarms. 

Fishing lake - do bring some rods if you would like to use the lake - there is a rowing boat for your use. Typical fish in the lake:  carp 2kg+,  pike 2kg, zander 2kg, perch 1/2kg, small roach and tench.  
 

About the location

This beautiful unspoilt area is one of rolling wooded countryside interspersed with numerous rivers and lakes for swimming and fishing. The region is designated a regional park - Le Parc Regional de Perigord Limousin. The village of Marval (tennis court) is five minutes drive away with the small towns of Cussac and St. Mathieu (with large leisure lake) just slightly further. Piegut-Pluviers has a fantastic Wednesday market and there are plenty of restaurants all around to suit every budget.

How to get here

By Car:  Le Val du Goth is an easy drive down the motorways from the channel ports

By plane:   With the excellent flights offered by Ryanair and Flybe to Limoges from airports all across the UK why not consider a short break to Le Val du Goth.   Your arrival and departure dates can be flexible (out of high season) so check the flights and come for a bargain break.  

Limoges is our nearest airport (40 mins).   Ryanair fly here from:   Stansted (daily), Bournemouth (Thurs/Sat), Bristol (Tues/Thurs/Sat), East Midlands (Mon/Tues/Thurs/Sat), Edinburgh (Mon/Fri), Liverpool (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun), Luton (Tues/Thurs/Sunday).   Flybe to Limoges from:  Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton.   Also within easy drives are the airports at Angouleme and Bergerac, or slightly further Bordeaux and Poitiers.

By train: Excellent train links - Angouleme to Lille or Paris for connections on Eurostar to St Pancras, or Limoges to Paris/St Pancras.
