La Mérie Cottage is a deceptively large one bedroom converted colombage barn renovated to an extremely high standard, which sleeps two adults.

Situated in the beautiful Selune Valley, amidst rolling countryside and is ideal for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday, but close to all amenities. The cottage, adjacent to the resident owners farmhouse, has its own terrace, covered parking and private entrance and is extremely well equipped and comfortable with charming features that includes exposed beams.   The large delightful garden at La Merie has many different areas with fruit trees, numerous shrubs and pathways and attracts a vast variety of birds and butterflies, also not forgetting the red squirrels who harvest our walnuts.

Located at the southern tip of Manche and served by the ports of Caen ( 1 hr 15 min.), Cherbourg (2 hr 15 min.), Le Havre (2 hrs) and Calais (5 hrs). Also served by the airports at Rennes (apprx.1hr 15 min.) and Dinard (1 hr 15 min.).

Accommodation detail

• Kitchen - consists of a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen with a full size gas cooker consisting of 4 burners, oven and electric grill, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. All kitchen utensils and crockery are also supplied.
• Living/dining room - is spacious with a comfortable sofa and armchair, dining table and four chairs, coffee table and table lamps. Also provided: A wide screen Satelite TV and DVD player.
• Bedroom - is situated upstairs and comprises of a double bed, wardrobe unit, bedside tables, table lamps, hair dryer and a chest of drawers.
• Bathroom - is large and has a bath/shower, hand basin and WC.

The entire property is decorated and equipped to a very high standard and is also centrally heated. A comprehensive selection of books and a few DVD's are provided.  The wide screen TV has an English Satalite connection and offers all Free to View channels, which includes all BBC, ITV and a variety of news, travel and topical programmes.

An Epicerie Van also calls 5 mornings a week where you can purchase numerous items including freshly baked bread, milk, fresh vegetables & fruit, wine and beer to name but a few.

Outside

There is a large garden divided into several interesting areas for guests to relax in and enjoy. Also offered is covered parking and a private entrance.

About the location

The pretty town of Mortain with its Abbey, waterfalls, 11th century tiny Chapel and panoramic view of Mont St. Michel is just 6kms. This delightful town also offers a selection of Bars and Restaurants to suit all tastes and a wide range of shops together with a large supermarket. The mediaeval town of Domfront, with is narrow streets and ruined castle, also offers the same facilies on a slightly larger scale. These two towns are but a short drive away (10 minutes and 20 minutes).

• Short breaks can be arranged, please contact the owner for details.
• Guests are asked to arrive after 4pm and depart by 11am.
• A Security Deposit of £100 is required and will be refunded after your stay provided there is no damage or breakage.
• The prices are inclusive of water, gas and electricity.
