Home description

Enjoy the tranquillity of rural France with all the comforts in our attractive cottages, these have been developed while retaining their original features, yet offering a high degree of comfort.  Each cottage has its own grounds, and has use of the pool and other facilities on the site. 

We are situated in the Perche Nature Park - one of the gems of France, with wildlife - deer, red squirrels, buzzards etc, chateaux, maniors.  village life is still retained and encouraged.  The Perche is famous for its horses, cider, calvados and boudon noire - black pudding. 

Markets are held weekly in all the villages with local produce from surrounding farms sold by the producers.  L'Aigle - 15 mins away  - market is held on Tuesday morning the largest in Normandy. 

Restaurants are numerous with chefs who take pride in sourcing and using local produce.  For something completely different try a lunch in a local tradesmen's restaurant, where the menu is what the chef finds in the market that day. 

The Perche itself has chateaux to visit, lakes to bathe or fish in, 2 - 18 hole golf courses, and horse riding.  L'Aigle has a large swimming pool with the highest water shoot in Normandy.

Brocants are a popular way of spending Sunday afternoon, where villagers put a stall in the village street and sell off their unwanted items.  Like a car boot, but each village has one or two a year.

There is an organic baker nearby where you can see your bread being baked in a traditional wood oven, with wheat that is grown on the farm.

If you wish to venture farther afield you can visit the Normandy beaches, Paris, Chartres, Giverney or Le Mans (not only for racing but also good for shopping).

We never tire of finding something different to do or see in this beautiful area - and we love to share it with our visitors

This is our latest venture, where we have converted the old bakehouse part of our own farmhouse into a comfortable cottage for 2 people. 

It is all on the ground floor, wheelchair friendly, and available at all times of the year.  

Also available for a mini break on a daily basis.

The cottage comprises:

• Large lounge with beams and windows that overlooking  the garden.  Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. TV with English TV. Set of books.  Comfortable furniture including easy chairs, buffet and table.
• Double Bedroom with twin beds, wardrobe and dressing table. Leading to:
• Ensuite shower room, with shower that is sunk into the floor, WC and handbasin.
• Kitchen equipped with full set of cupboards, dishwasher, oven, toaster, and full set of utensils.

A washing machine is available in the utility room. Washing lines at back of the house.

Central heating throughout and a cot is available.

Outside

The cottage has its own barbecue and outside sitting area that is private and quiet, but within easy reach of the other facilities that are on site, including games room, swimming pool and large field for games.  Lots of off road parking.

About the location

There are several very good local restaurants from creperie to auberge to gastronomic - take your pick - all at reasonable prices.

An hour and a quarter away are Giverney (Monet's garden) and Le Mans, a cosmopolitan city with its famous race track. Haras de Pin - French National Stud is 30 mins and the 18 hole golf course at Belleme is 20 mins away - open to the public all year.

It is only two hours to Paris (you can visit by local train - excellent service) one hour to Versailles and two hours to Disneyland Paris. Chartres with its remarkable cathedral and medieval town with interesting shops is 40 minutes away.

The owners live on site and are always read to advise and help make the most of your holiday.

How to get here

It is within easy reach of the ports - Caen is 2 hours away, Calais 3 1/2 hours, Paris 1 1/2 hours and Le Mans 1 1/4 hours. The N12 is also easily accessible.  Also accessible from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport where you can easily hire a car and drive to us in about 2 hours.
