Home description

The little hamlet of La Grange Vieille is located 5 km from Arnac-Pompadour.  Arnac-Pompadour is best known for Chateau Pompadour, a gift of Louis XV to Madame de Pompadour, his mistress. It is also the home of the national stud farm, the 'Harras National'.

The area is richly forested and also has many lakes, the largest of which is Lac Vassivière (70 km). The Nearest swimming lake is 10 km away and 15 km away are the Vézère gorges'

La Grange Vieille Gîtes and Bed and Breakfast opened in May 2002.  We offer self catering gîtes and bed and breakfast on a large property in a small hamlet with great views, large gardens and orchard, very peaceful and quiet.

The property consists of a large house with three bed and breakfast rooms, a separate converted barn where the owners, Carin, Paul and Stijn (3 years), live and another separate converted barn with the two cottages.

Each gîte has its private terrace and barbecue. Both gîtes have a washing machine.  Included in the price are the bed-linen, electricity, water and gas for cooking. Bed and breakfast guests can use a private terrace.

There are two bed and breakfast rooms with a double bed and one with two singles.

All guests are welcome to use the rest of the garden and orchard (7000 m²) with some splendid views and there is a playground for the children.

On request we can prepare dinner and the self catering guests are welcome to join us for breakfast.

Golf arrangements

We offer an arrangement to cater for guests who want to play golf in the region. The arrangement consists of staying in three B&B's in different regions in the south of France.

About the location

The region is well known for it's beautiful scenery.  The landscape is hilly and wooded with many lakes for fishing.  You can go sightseeing in Limoges or Perigueux, visit medieval towns such as Segur le Chateau or Uzerche, go swimming in a lake or golfing on one of the courses, canoeing, mountain biking, visit a zoo or aquarium, take a trip in a balloon or just take a walk out of your front door.  A walking path into the woods with a lake, starts at your accommodation.

Come and take a break in the Limousin, relax and refresh yourself.
