Jo & Richard Surtees resident owners since 2001, offer their guests a holiday to truly relax and get away from the everyday pressures of life. Hameau de certes is nestled high between a valley of rolling green hillls encompassing magnificent views of distant villages and the Pyrenees

Choose from 3 enchanting cottages, Petite chouette sleeping 5, Le Crecerelle sleeps 8 and La Chouette sleeps 11-12. The cottages are all individually screened with shrubs and plants to ensure plenty of privacy, take advantage of the immense space and freedom enjoying a family or large group gathering in all 3 cottages (private yoga classes available July and August minimum 4 people)

We offer you a chance to truly relax and unwind. Enjoy the delicious local cuisine, speciality of foie gras and magret de canard, sample wonderful wines this area has to offer Minervois, Fonton, Gaillac, Buzet or Madiran.

The department of the Ariege stunningly  sits in the central Pyrenees, next to Andorra, its highest peaks visible from Toulouse. It is one of the most unspoiled regions of France, whose inhabitants have held fast to their traditions. The countryside is wild but easily accessible. Top grade trout streams rush down forested mountain sides into rivers where kayakers paddle. Waymarked walking trails lead to 3000 metres peaks where isards (chamois), marmots and even bears roam. Cyclists can take in a stage of the Tour de France, mountain bike down tracks or gently pedal in the valleys visiting Bastide towns and villages  For a wonderful  memorable holiday  avoid dissapointment   book early !!!!!!!!!!

Accommodation detail

An impressively spacious 5 bedroom home, sleeping up to 11/12 (+ cot), it is very comfortable with each bedroom having en-suite bathroom facilities. 

Ground floor

• Kitchen / diner - a very large fully equipped kitchen gives plenty of space for all and features a 6 ring hob plus double oven huge kitchen table seats for all. 
• Lounge - spacious and comfortably furnished with beamed ceilings and white washed stone walls, digital TV, video, DVD, and CD player. 
• Hallway - large area which has seating and a seperate TV area for Playstation, takes you to the stairs that lead up to the first floor.

First floor 

• Bedroom 2 - with a double bed 
• Bedroom 3 -  2 single beds plus stairs leading to:
• Bedroom 4 - be on the mezzanine floor which is a Bunk beds.

Second floor

• Bedroom 5 - family bedroom with  3 single beds.

Outside

Outside you have the choice to either sit on your own patio under the grapevines and kiwi trees or on the unshaded portion with its own barbecue and garden dining furniture.

About the location

Hameau De Certes  is around 45 minutes from Toulouse and Carcassonne, 1 hour 30 minutes from Andorra, 20 minutes from Mirepoix, 25 minutes from Foix. and 15 minutes from Pamiers.

The property is situated close to the small village of Belpech, (2 kms), where there are all basic facilities - banks with cash points, supermarkets, a pharmacy, doctors' surgery, restaurant, a newsagent, bakery and petrol station.

If you can tear yourself away from all the facilities on offer at  Hameau De Certes, the Ariège has plenty of activities for the energetic. Water adventure parks, caves and gorges, white water rafting, canooing, water skiing, rock climbing and mountain biking, bungy jumping.

• Lake Montbel has a beach and watersports, picnic areas,30 mins away.
• The mediteranean coast, great beaches and waterparks
• This is the Cathar region so take the opportunity and visit the many castles and Chateaux including Carcassonne
• Choice of 3 golf courses approx 40 mins away Nearest ski station approx under 1 hour away
• Ax Les Thermes many shops, restaurants, Casino, Parking, Tele- cabine will take you to the main ski level  enjoy theBassin des Ladres, a pool of hot sulphurous water
• Andorra for  the duty free shopping

How to get here

• Flights - Low cost Ryanair to Carcasonne, Easy jet and Flybe to Toulouse (rental cars available at both airports.
• Car from Cherbourg/Calais etc approximately 9 hours plus stops
• Train - TGV can transport you and your car to Toulouse.

A 25% deposit is required on booking, and the balance 8 weeks before the holiday start date.
There is a £150 damage deposit required.
