Nestling between the mountains and the sea and sharing a border with Spain, this southern most tip of France has a distinctively Mediterranean flavour.

Nowhere else in France will you see such incredible diversity of natural beauty. Majestic Mount Canigou (2785m) provides a dramatic backdrop to the whole region. By contrast there is also the longest stretch of uninterrupted sandy beach in France.

This region of France enjoys the mildest climate in the country. Summers are hot and winters are mild. There are over 300 days a year of sunshine in the region. Even in the winter the sun can be quite warm, and temperatures rarely fall below freezing. The Pyrenees and their foothills extend right down to the coast, providing the region with dramatic differences in climate. Despite very low rainfall, the plains and valleys remain green throughout the year and produce more wine and fruit than anywhere else in the country. The climate, geography and rich history of the area ensures that you will never be short of things to do. Clinging to the foothills of the mountains there are dramatic Cathar castles and fortified towns to be discovered.

A most attractive stone barn conversion situated in the stunning Tet valley, in a quiet location on the outskirts of Eus, officially one of the prettiest villages in France, the property enjoys one of the most beautiful views in the area, and is equipped and furnished to an extremely high standard with terracotta floors throughout.

The accommodation comprises:

• Kitchen -  fully equipped to a very high standard with gas/electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee percolator, food mixer, kettle and glasses more than sufficient for 10 people.
• Dining room - large dining table to seat 10 with dresser and sideboard.
• Lounge - a huge well furnished area with plenty of comfortable seating; a bar and large wood burning stove providing ducted heating to the upper floor when required. There is also a satellite TV (BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, ITV2, SKY News, and 25 or so other channels), and a combined video, DVD and CD player.
• Cloakroom - WC and wash handbasin
• Bedroom 1 - the principal en-suite bedroom. King size double bed with two bedside cabinets with table lamps, dressing table, double wardrobe and large fully fitted en-suite bathroom with corner bath, separate shower cubicle, double basins, and bidet. Separate WC on landing.
• Bedroom 2 - double bed and en-suite shower room, wash hand basin and WC. 
• Bedroom 3 - double bed.
• Bedroom 4 - twin beds.
• Bedroom 5 - twin beds.
• Bathroom - bath, shower over, wash handbasin and WC.
• Landing area - Separate WC

All bedrooms are very attractively furnished with plenty of wardrobe space, and a cot with bedding, changing mat and highchair are provided for families with babies or young children. Babysitting is available locally on request.

All beds are provided with pillows, and duvets. Bed linen and towels are also included. The rooms are cleaned weekly and the bed linen and towels changed weekly.

Outside

A private 10 x 5m swimming pool with roman steps(available from 1st May to 31st October), set in a large, south facing, paved terrace with shrubs. Fully equipped with 10 sun beds with cushions, table, chairs, umbrella and pergola. There is also a gas barbecue. Off-road parking for 3 cars.

About the location

Where the mountains meet the sea, along the Cote Vermeille, there are some of the Mediterranean's prettiest coastal villages, such as Collioure and Port Vendres and the larger beach resorts Argeles and Canet. Between mid-December and the end of March the nearest ski resorts of Les Angles and Font Romeu are easily accessible.

As if there was not enough to see and do locally, the Spanish border is only 20 minutes from Perpignan. Gerona is approximately 45 minutes and Barcelona about 1 hour 45 minutes.

By road - By motorway from north to south use A9 motorway "La Catalane, a choice of 3 exits: Perpignan Nord (North), Perpignan Sud (South) and Le Boulou.
