Two Gites and Pool - Royan Beach 30 mins

Beaurepaire is a stunning former farmhouse, stone built with oak beams standing at the end of a long planted drive in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards.

The area benefits from a wonderful warm climate  due to the effect of the Gulf Stream creating a micro-climate making this the second sunniest region of France.

The property has been tastefully converted into two lovely gites each with its own patio area set in 3 ½ acres of land and is ideally situated to visit and explore Royan, Saintes, Pons, Cognac, La Rochelle, Rochefort and Bordeaux amongst others.

There is a new 12m x 6m swimming pool with roman steps and terracing allowing the loungers to face south. The pool and terracing are fenced for safety to comply with French legislation. Other activities at Beaurepaire include a games room with table tennis, pool table, childrens snooker table and darts, barbecue, childrens play area swing and slide, toddlers ride-on cars, attractive well planted gardens with badminton, music CD players, board games, satellite TV and reading books.

La Grange is fully self-contained and equipped with dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, cutlery and crockery as well as satellite TV, patio furniture and barbecue.

About Cravans in Charente-Maritime, Poitou Charentes

The surrounding area has sweeping vineyards, where the famous Pineau Des Charentes aperitif is produced, and is peaceful and flat. Perfect for cycling, walking or just relaxing.

Seafood , fresh vegetables and cheeses are available in the nearby weekly markets of Gemozac and Cozes which also have a variety of shops and supermarkets.

Sandy Beaches
Within 30 minutes drive of Beaurepaire you will find some of the best sandy beaches in Europe : Royan, Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, Meschers and La Plage des Vergnes where you will also find caves and rock pools. The beaches of the Cote Sauvage (north of Royan) have the best waves for water sports and fabulous sand dunes. Similarly the islands of Ile de Ré and Ile d'Oleron have some wonderful stretches of sand.

Royan
Royan is a coastal town with miles of sandy beaches, many restaurants and shops and is home to La Palmyre zoo - the best in France.

La Rochelle
This impressive fortified town, with two large towers overlooking the old port has hundreds of bars and restaurants. It also boasts a magnificent aquarium and museums.

Saintes
Saintes is a town rich in monuments from medieval times. Celebrated monuments include the Roman Arch, Roman Amphitheatre and the Archaeological Museum which houses riches from the 1st to the 3rd centuries. Take a boat trip or fish on the Charente River. Saintes also boasts many shops bars and restaurants.

Bordeaux
The second city of France with its world famous wine producing areas Blaye, St Emillion, Fronsac.

Cognac
A pretty town and home to some of the world's most famous distilleries, which offer guided tours and wine tasting.

Ile d'Oleron
Ile d'Oleron is an island accessed by a long, toll-free bridge. The island has miles of sandy beaches and is laced with cycle paths through the pine woods.

Poitiers
The monkey theme park La Vallée des Singes and Futurscope (futuristic 3D cinerama and evening laser show) are not far from Poitiers with its attractive squares, narrow alleyways and cobbled streets.

• Beaurepaire is 10 minutes from junction 36 of the A10 AutoRoute.
