Fonclaire is set in twenty five acres of pasture and woodland in the beautiful countryside of the Haute Vienne, and yet only five minuets away from Bellac and thirty minutes from Limoges.You can often see wildlife in the form of deer, ragondan, heron and buzzards. We have our own resident animals too, two spaniels , a donkey, and chickens. Also in the grounds is a small lake containing mirror and common carp.

The accommodation consists of A gite and three chambre d'hote (B&B). All rooms are on the ground floor except the mezzanine bedroom .

Outside there is a newly built above ground swimming pool of 10 x 4 and 1.30 meters deep. All guests have full use of the barbecue and covered eating area beside the lake. In the grounds there is a small camping area for eight caravans or tents, with a shower block and dishwashing facilities. So you can holiday with family and friends who like to camp. The boulangerie van calls most days but if you miss her there is a baker in the village and a very reasonable restaurant with a set four course meal with wine all for around 14€. 

The owenrs have a selection of brochures in the gites or you can visit the tourist information for the latest what's on.Why not sit by the lake with a glass of wine whilst you decide.

This is of a similar style with all accommodation on the ground floor and comprises:

• Two double bedrooms with the addition of twin beds on the mezzanine, probably suitable for children owing to the head room.
• The living area has a log burner for the out of season visits, with a c.d.player. There is ample seating for six to relax and dine.
• A shower room.

French doors open direct onto a patio with garden furniture with views of the garden.

All guests have full use of the barbecue and covered eating area beside the lake. In the grounds we have a small camping area for six caravans or tents, with a shower block and dishwashing facilities. So you can holiday with family and friends who like to camp. We have planned for 2005 a boules piste and an above ground swimming pool 10 by 4 and 1.30 meters deep.

About the location

Fonclaire is near the villages of Blond and Mortemart where you will find restaurants and post office. The town of Bellac is 10km away and has four supermarkets, banks post offices and vets plus all the shops sites and restaurants to suit all requirements.

Limoges is 30 mins away and has an airport and department stores museums and many porcelain factories and shops. There are several lakes in the area suitable for bathing, the coast is a two hour drive.

Bellgarde aiport Limoges is 30 min away and we are about 5 hrs from Dieppe and 8hrs from Calais by road .Rail link to limoges where you can hire a car 40 min drive.
