B&B in Spacious Villa with Pool, Extensive Gardens and Tennis

Set in 3 acres of gardens and olive groves, La Sarrazine is a spacious and gracious villa providing guests with peace and tranquillity in the heart of Provence.

There are three double bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. Guests have exclusive use of the large salon and adjoining sun terrace. A substantial breakfast is served al fresco in the summer months or in front of an open fire for cooler days.

There are a number of good restaurants within easy walking distance or a light supper can be made available by special arrangement. Cars may be parked securely within the grounds of the house.

The pool is situated about 30 yards from the house, as is the tennis court. The garden provides numerous hideaways where visitors can relax and enjoy the sounds of nature - a fitting complement to the many attractions of this beautiful region of France.

In order to preserve the peace and tranquility of La Sarrazine, this is a no smoking establishment and the owners are not able to accommodate children under 12 years or pets.

The Sunday Times travel section recently made reference to La Sarrazine.  The quote read  'If you want the loveliest chambres d'hotes in the area, head for Lorgues and the British-run La Sarrazine'.

A spacious double room with 180cm Super King bed which is zip-linked so can be made into twin beds of 90cm each. It has its own private, fully appointed facilities with shower, washbasin and WC. There is private access to bedroom at ground floor level.

About Lorgues in Var, Provence - Cote d'Azur

La Sarrazine has a wonderful panoramic view looking down over the delightful and unspoiled town of Lorgues. The town is ideally situated with the hills of the Haut Var just 20 minutes away to the North and the coastal towns of St Maxime St Raphael and St Tropez a 40 minute drive. With its Tuesday market, Lorgues is just a 10 minute walk from the property and has a good selection of restaurants to suit all tastes.

The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, whether it is an afternoon stroll or a day-long hike. Cycling, horse riding, kayaking and many other activities are also within easy reach. And of course with the many vineyards around then wine tasting is a must!

Other Places of Interest

Gorges du Verdon and Lac St.e Croix: A spectacular drive through Europe's deepest Gorge with many pretty villages to view on the way there and back. The lake offers a wonderfully relaxed place for swimmers and canoeing.

Cannes, St. Tropez, St. Maxim and Le Lavandou: These and many other beaches are all within easy reach, being less than an hour's drive from the house. Aix en Provence with its excellent shopping is a slightly longer drive of 50 miles.

Le Thoronet, Tourtour, Cotignac, and many other charming villages are also within a stone's throw of Lorgues.

How to Get to La Sarrazine

GPS Coordinates: N43deg 48727' E 006deg 35.67'

From Nice:

(Journey Time: 1 Hour 15 Minutes)

From Nice Airport: Take the Autoroute A8 Direction Cannes/Toulon. After approximately 80 kms take Exit No. 36 signposted Draguignan, St Tropez and Le Muy.

Take the N7 in the direction Les Arcs and Vidauban for about 6 kms until you come to a fork to the right for the D10 signposted in the direction Taradeau and Lorgues. At the next junction (about 100m further on) go straight over, still heading towards Taradeau and Lorgues.

As you approach the outskirts of Lorgues you will come to a roundabout. Take the third exit on to the Boulevard Frederic Mistral direction Salernes.

After 300m take the first turning on the left (Chemin du Peirouard). Go immediately right passing along the shop frontage. At the junction at the end of the shops turn left up the hill.

This is Chemin du Pendedi. La Sarrazine is 100 yards up on the left hand side.

Driving Instructions from Aix:

(Journey Time: 1 Hour 15 Minutes)

Get on to the A8 in the direction of Nice, St. Raphael, etc.

Go to the Toulon exit about 60 - 70 km from Aix - it has no number but is the exit about 25km AFTER Brignoles which is exit No. 35. Go a few yards on the Toulon road and then turn off to the N7 which will be signposted to Vidauban and Les Arcs.

In the centre of Vidauban take the turning to the left signposted to Lorgues (D48). Follow the signs to Lorgues and as you come into town follow the directions given above as though driving from Nice.
