Bed & Breakfast with Wonderful Valley Views and swimming pool

Dee and David invite you to stay at their friendly Bed and Breakfast, with swimming pool (above ground), which is shared with the owners. They live in the pretty village of Dompierre-sur-Authie in the Somme.  Children are welcome.

The owners hope you like dogs as they have 2 very loveable black labs, Daisy and Ella, who love everybody and enjoy a big fuss. However, the dogs are not allowed up to the guest floor.

The property boasts a lovely large garden and guests are free to enjoy picnics in the grounds.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at The Blue Room

The house has a very large garden well maintained overlooking the Authie Valley with wonderful views and a swimming pool. Dee and David serve you an excellent breakfast to start your day. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated. The house is up to a very high standard and the owners hope theirs guests will like it.

Ground Floor:

  • Lounge - is available for guests to share with the owners (and to have a glass of wine or two).
  • Shower room - large room, shared with owners.

First Floor:

  • The Blue room - a very large, comfortable room with an armchair and a settee. The room has its own washing facility with basin and vanity unit. There is also tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, UK Satellite TV, radio and video player, plus a complimentary bottle of wine to welcome you.
  • Separate Shower room with WC - new facility tastefully decorated next to the bedrooms, for guests use only (shared, although only one room let at a time unless both bedrooms occupied by same booking).

About Dompierre Sur Authie in Somme, Picardie

The property is 15mins from the historic town of Hesdin with its lovely town square, with plenty of pavement cafes bars and restaurants serving good food where you can sit and watch the world go by. There is a large market there every Thursday.

Dee and David also boast being 10 mins from the beautiful Cistercian Abbey and its wonderful gardens which change with the seasons, 5 mins further on is the working watermill at Maintenay well worth a visit. Abbeville, Arras, Amiens are also within easy reach, with good shopping and loads of history. Montreuil with its Citadel and cobbled streets is well worth a day out. The Opal coast with all its wonderful beaches is only 30 mins away.

You can also try a day trip to Disneyland Paris or just visit Paris this wonderful city only 2 and a half hours away. There is a Baggatelle theme and animal park and Asterix park also both worth a visit. There are very good reasonable priced restaurants in the area also good sea food restaurants.

Historic sites:

  • The Somme, World War I- to follow the memorials to the lost generation and tour the battlefields is highly recommended, along with visiting the various museums. Maps are available at the house.
  • La Coupole war museum near St Omer.
  • The underground city in Arras.
  • Also just 5mins from Dompierre is the Ancient battlefield of Crécy.
