Your hosts Patrick Heffron and Nannette Holliday welcome you to their house in the Provence. Pat is English and a qualified mountain instructor, canoeist, skier and diver. He was head of the adventure department at Marlborough College for 18 years before retiring in 1991. Nannette is Australian, author, photographer, excellent cook and loves France. Patrick's sons both live in America, both married to Americans. We have available a car which can be rented at a very reasonable cost. It is a right hand drive Zantia in good condition . We provide 3rd party insurance cover but clients will need to arrange top up insurance with their own company.
The gite is part of a villa situated on the edge of the hills of Provence. It is close to the village of Vinsobres and set in a beautiful surrounding of lavender fields, apricot orchards and vineyards, a truly rural setting. The market towns of Nyons and Vaison La Romaine are 8 kms away and have all major facilities. The centrally heated gite/apartment forms the ground floor of the large villa, private and with its own sunny patio area and flower garden.
Access to the gite is via a rose covered archway leading to the private sunny terrace decorated with passion flower covered arbor. Past the mimosa tree there are 2 steps down to the outdoor dining area shaded by a vine covered arbor. It seats 5 and there is a gas BBQ. Beyond the dining area is the pool, shaded by cherry trees and surrounded by a multitude of flower beds and pots. The pool is available at all times. Clients have their own private terrace with pool furniture, parasol and outdoor shower.
By the outdoor dining area is a games room cum play room complete with pool table, football machine, childrens toys. It is a an ideal safe, cool area for the little ones as well.
We also have a selection of bikes available free of charge except for damages. A baby sitting service is provided when we are available, also free of charge. We are fully equipped for a baby.
The owners welcome guests with a cold drink on arrival and explain about the local facilities.
We look forward to meeting you at the Cherry Tree. The gite is designed to accommodate a family of 4 plus room for an extra baby. Children of all ages are most welcome.
Access to the apartment is via the kitchen/diner although there is another entrance at the front by the parking. From the terrace 2 steps lead in to the delightfully cool kitchen/diner which is fully equipped for 5 clients. The kitchen has a fridge freezer, gas cooker, small oven, microwave, coffee maker etc. A passageway leads to the main part of the accommodation.
A double bedroom has an adjoining bathroom with shower and WC .There is a lounge with bed-settees, comfortable chairs, library, satellite TV, video and games. The lounge can be used as an extra bedroom if necessary.
Further along the passageway is another bedroom with twin beds and a shower compartment . Another WC is available off the passageway. At the end of the corridor is the front entrance leading to the secure parking. A washing machine is available for occasional use. All linen and towels are provided as are both summer and winter duvets.
The villa is situated deep in the real provence surrounded by lavender fields, vineyards and the hills of pine and cyprus. Close by are beautiful hilltop villages, lively market towns and famous tourist sites like Orange, Montelimar, Vaison la Romaine, Gorge de Ardeche and many others.
Within easy reach of mountains, rock faces, gentle walking areas, famous canoeing gorges, superb hill villages, quiet cycling lanes and even the frenetic Mediterranean Sea.
Visit the market towns of Nyons and Vaison la Romaine, marvel at the Roman buildings in Orange, or walk in a countryside that overpowers you with the smell of Provencal herbs, lavender and fruit. Buy the local wines and eat well and cheaply in local restaurants.

Access by road is via the Bollene exit of the A7 autoroute. Follow the GAP road to Vinsobres. The nearest TGV station is Avignon and both Marseille and Nimes Airports are convenient via the Autoroutes, 1hr 30 and 1hr respectively from Vinsobres.

Payment for US and Canadian clients is easiest by SWIFT money transfer to us here in Provence in Euros. UK customers can pay in sterling.
Please note that bookings are for Saturday to Saturday. We welcome enquiries for shorter stays outside the May to Sept period.
Would clients please note that arrival time is 5pm on the Saturday and departure not later than 10am. The gite will therefore be thoroughly cleaned and ready for the new guests during this period. Please also note that the gite should be left clean by each departing client . Please replace any broken items.
We also can provide a departure maid service for cleaning, with the exception of cutlery and crockery, cost €38.
Temporary visitors may not use the facilities of the gîte.
