Restored Fisherman's Cottage with Pool

A delightfully restored detached cottage set in a peaceful and idyllic situation with far reaching views of the sea. The cottage is pleasant with a high standard of decoration and comfortable with light and airy rooms. Fully equipped with modern conveniences.

Throughout the year the owners rent this small traditional cottage to holidaymakers. The cottage is at the edge of the sea with a small private garden and a private terrace within a pleasant framework for 2 to 4 people. The villa is situated in a "UNESCO site", in an big arborated garden of 2500m² with many areas for games and to relax and read, there are also many terraces. It is located near a picturesque fisherman's village and its orientation is south.

The total renovation of the cottage was finished recently and has been carefully restored and furnished to give spacious, comfortable accommodation in a seaside spirit. Many people tell us they think they are in a boat with modern accommodation and comfort with "zen decoration". There is no noise only the bird singing.

It is a ground floor cottage with private garden and is protected by a high hedge and terrace. The cottage cannot be viewed from the owners thatched cottage. There is also a place for parking for a car. It is fully decorated in blue and yellow. Heating is by electric convector heaters.

If you come by boat, you can moor it near the cottage. The cottage is equipped for people with a handicap or reduced mobility.

The cottage is near the harbour and has a swimming pool which is heated from 25/30 April to the beginning of October at 23 degrees minimum, shared with the owner occasionally in the evening after 8pm. No other rental on the property.

It is situated 2km from the centre of the town of Plouguerneau where there is a market, a good choice of coffee shops and reasonably priced restaurants. It is a short drive from the beautiful sandy beaches and rocky inlets of the unspoilt north Brittany coast. In this area there are many beautiful coastal walks and fascinating towns (Roscoff, Landerneau, Lesneven) and villages to explore. In conclusion, it is an ideal base to visit the north of Brittany.

Wherever you look from the French windows, the direct view of the sea makes you feel that you live in a boat. It is a perfect location for a romantic holiday or a young family.

You can also walk in two acres of garden which has been pleasantly landscaped and planted with a variety of colourful shrubs and trees. You have access to a large swimming pool. It measures 10 x 6 with depth from 1 metre to 1 metre 80 cm. The swimming pool is constant temperature from 10  May to beginning  of October min 21/24 degrees (only shared with the owners who are at home only the evening after work). From the wood terrace you have a beautiful and quiet view of the sea. It is equipped with garden furniture, umbrellas and barbecue.

Holiday Accommodation at Cottage / Bed & Breakfast

• Kitchen - fully equipped with anything you would need, table with few level for the handicapped, electric oven and grill, coffee and tea machine, microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer and washing machine.
• Living room - with sofa bed (good bed for 2), colour TV with english and french satellite, Hi-Fi, DVD.
• Double Bedroom - with a large double bed and dressing table.
• Bathroom - with one hand basin and a shower.
• Separate toilet.

All the beds are made with quilts and pillows. You will find a selection of antique furniture that the owners find during their travels.

About Plouguerneau in Finistère, Brittany

A 10 minutes drive to the market town of Plouguerneau (2 km) where you will find supermarkets, post office, pharmacy, café bars, restaurants. A market is held every thursday morning in the centre of village. Lannilis (3 km) and Lesneven (10 km).

Plouguerneau, the seaweed harvesters country, lies on the north coast of Finistère. It has 40 km (24 miles) of highly varied coast land. It has a rich heritage, with many chapels in addition to interesting museums and open air museums. The Plouguerneau coastline is one of the most varied in Brittany. It has attractive dune areas and rocky headlands where the white frothy waves crash down. It also has mud flats going deep down into the indented Aber Wrac'h. The little Korejou harbour, which owes its name to the "Gored" (Breton for fish traps) which were used here in the past, has kept its traditional fishing activities and seaweed harvesting activities alongside its current sailing activities. The strand is particularly attractive because of its white sand and its restored dune are.

On the Lilia harbour side the view of the Ile Vierge (Virgin Island) and its two lighthouses (1838, 1902) is magnificent. The biggest one is 82 m (270 ft.) high and it is the tallest stone built lighthouse in Europe. You can go there by boat.

Information is available at the Tourist Office. Hundreds of small rocky isles make up a wonderful wild ravaged seascape, which is sometimes looks calmer when the tide is in. The little Perroz harbour faces the Aber Wrac'h harbour. Every high tide floods the Aber valley over more than 10 km (6 miles). A rambler's handbook is available at the tourist office.

Plouguerneau is a land of priests and sailors and its heritage reflects this. The Saint Michel chapel (1828) which stands over the sea, was built there where the missionary, Michel le Nobletz, took retreat (1607-1608). The Missions' Museum, at Le Grouaneg tells how this priest invented a new way of preaching using the "taolennou the country of Aber wracht is situated at 10 KM of Lesneven, 30km of Brest(airport), 30 km of Roscoff (Ferries port).

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful unspoilt countryside then this is for you. It is for two or four people. In town, you can find baker, butcher, 2 supermarkets, 3 bars, hairdresser and doctors. There are many excellent restaurants in the area which all offer very good value and a wide range of menus.
