Where is it

La Pastourelle is situated in 14 acres of gardens, meadows, park and woodland. So whether your interests and requirements of a holiday are relaxation, peace and tranquillity, or touring and a certain amount of activity. The setting and the location will provide for and meet your needs. The area is of outstanding natural beauty and an artists dream. It is a little piece of paradise in the Limousin National Park.

Marval is our nearest Village (1.5 km) with tabac, grocers and restaurant. Piegut Pluviers (5 km) the nearest town with weekly market, modern supermarket and petrol station.

Built in the Limousin style but with all modern conveniences, the gîte comfortably sleeps four.

A welcome pack will be supplied for your arrival - this contains wine, beer, bottled water, teabags, coffee, sugar, milk and fruit juice. Also bread, butter, ham, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, cereals, croissants, jam and fresh fruit. Enough to prepare a light meal on arrival and breakfast the following morning.

The Pool area:

The pool area and pool are for the exclusive use of the Guests (only one gite). Childproof safety fencing and gate surrounds the pool area (conforms to French AFNOR standard)

The swimming pool with Roman steps and sunbathing area is very secluded. Sun loungers and parasols are provided.

Grounds:

You can fish in well stocked lake (Carp, Mirror and Common, but not specimen waters!) and enjoy the private parkland and woodland with walks and picnic areas (Mother Nature at it's best!).

Other activities:

There are four mountain bikes as cycling is very safe in this area and the local village of Marval can easily be reached without too much strain!

Plus the use of garden games such as boules, badminton and croquet. For walkers there is an Ordnance survey map available. For Artists or gin and tonic imbibers! the views are stunning! And the sunsets are magnificent!

About the location

This is Richard the Lionheart country and there are many Chateaux and beautiful Towns and Villages to visit. Limoges is famous for its porcelain. The Roman baths at Chassenon and the prehistoric caves at Villars. On a more sombre note the World War two memorial at Oradour Sur Glane.
