This property is the perfect haven to relax in, or return to after a day out exploring this wonderful region.
La Magnanerie is an old silkfarm dating from the 1750s in the heart of the Provençal village of St. Siffret, nestling amongst vines and garrigue, just 5 minutes from Uzès. The house has recently been beautifully restored to a very high standard by local artisans. South facing, it has exposed, mellow stone walls, beamed and stone vaulted ceilings and tiled floors throughout.
The emphasis is upon comfort and charm, with high quality furnishings, furniture and equipment enabling you to relax, unwind and enjoy your stay in beautiful surroundings.
The ground floor Studio, decorated in provencal style, has a large open fireplace and beamed ceiling and a beautiful vaulted ceiling in the large bedroom area with a king sized bed. There is a huge ensuite shower and toilet and a fully equipped corner kitchen.
The Apartment on the 1st floor has stonewalls and is luxuriously furnished. It has an open plan living room which looks out onto the garden and pool. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a toilet leading off. A spiral staircase leads up to the beamed en-suite bedroom with bathroom and toilet and a king sized bed. This apartment has its own private roof terrace leading off.
The Chambres d'Hôtes de Charme have king-size beds, made up with quality cotton bedlinen. All have en-suite shower rooms and toilets. The breakfast is served in the garden or inside if the weather is not good.
The walled Mediterranean garden with its 10m pool, has dining and relaxation areas set against a backdrop of shrubs and plants typical of the region.
All combine to provide the perfect haven to relax in, or return to after a day out exploring and enjoying this wonderful region.
The owners, Pascale and Ton, live on-site on the second floor. They will gladly help you with anything they can, without intruding, and aim to ensure that you have a truly enjoyable and memorable stay. English, French, Dutch and German are spoken.
They can recommend good restaurants and “caves”, help with bookings and reservations both before and during your stay and point out places of interest to suit all tastes.
From the main entrance hall, lockable glazed French doors lead into the luxury ground floor guest Studio with its private lounge, kitchen and dining area and en-suite bedroom.
This private Studio has a well-equipped kitchen area with electric oven, cooker hood and fridge. Comfortable armchairs and a small, marble top dining table, beneath a beamed ceiling, with a large fireplace and a television (BBC), offer a relaxed setting. A lovely stone arch leads to the bedroom with a king-sized bed and separate large en-suite shower room and toilet with heated towel rail. Both of these rooms have beautiful vaulted ceilings and tiled floors and have been tastefully decorated.
