Lamourache Nord is set in sixteen acres of beautiful rolling French Countryside with panoramic views over the village of Levignac and the Chateau town of Duras. Levignac is walking distance while Duras is a short car ride away.

The area is famous for its vineyards and local wines. Visit some of the famous wine caves and sample the local vintage. There are many beautiful walks both gentle and for the more energetic.

The Chateau town of Duras boasts an ancient Chateau which is now almost fully restored to its former glory . Tours can be made on most days at a modest cost. Panoramic views from the top of the tower are magnificent. After your tour of the Château, why not sit at a pavement café and enjoy a vin rouge or café au lait . Or eat at one of the several high quality bar/restaurants.

Your holiday home has it is own private terrace and barbecue where you can enjoy the peace and calm of Lamourache with it splendid views. Or why not explore the local area by bicycle?

Outdoors:

Individual barbecues are provided for your enjoyment on balmy summer evenings. 

Outside and to the side of the cottage is the beautifully situated swimming pool with sun terraces and stunning views over Levignac and Duras.

The front meadow is solely for the use of guests for ball games etc.

Laundry facilities are provided in a separate annex which include automatic washing machine, iron and ironing board and double hand wash sink/drainer.

A welcome pack is given at the start of your stay comprising the essentials until guests can get to the shops, the nearest being 5 minutes away in Levignac.

An information folder is provided in the gîte giving important phone numbers and information, places to eat, visit and experience.

Accommodation detail

Blenheim comprises:

• A large open plan living area, fully tiled throughout.
• The kitchen area is fully equipped and
• The dining area has a large family dining table and chairs for those leisurely French meals.
• The lounge area has comfortable seating and occasional furniture. The decor is typically rural French with occasional furniture, paintings and ornaments.
• A separate toilet can be found to the rear of the property.

The first floor contains:

• Three bedrooms. One will take up to three single beds, another bedroom has bunk beds or two singles. The master bedroom houses an antique French bed and can also take another single bed or cot.
• The bathroom has a double vanity basin, shower cubicle and toilet.

About the location

During the summer months there are many local festivals and markets. These include the Balloon festival in August; the wine festivals of course: Farmers markets in Levignac on Friday nights where there is music, dancing feasting and making merry.

Medieval nights in Duras where the town centre is covered in straw, there are strolling players, hog roasts and of course beaucoup du vin!

There is always something going on most nights for those that wish to venture out. Although children are welcomed in most bars and restaurants in France, there is a qualified English nanny on site who may be available for child care at a minimal cost.

How to get here

Air

The nearest airport is Bergerac which is serviced by Ryanair and Flybee from several UK Airports including Stanstead; Bordeaux Airport is approximately 1 hours drive; Toulouse Airport is approximately 2 hours drive.

Car

Ferries operate daily to France from Portsmouth Folkestone and Dover. The shortest drive is from St Malo

For those that do not wish to drive whilst on holiday the owners of Lamourache can arrange collection from Bergerac Airport for a nominal charge.
