Home description

Our modern, second floor, two bedroom apartment is situated on the picturesque marina at Port Guillaume in the historic Norman market town of Dives sur Mer.

Dives is sandwiched between Houlgate and Cabourg , so as you can imagine there are wonderful sandy beaches and excellent restaurants just moments away by foot.

The apartment provides a perfect base for exploring the region of Calvados in Normandy and beyond or for a relaxing beach holiday. The marina front has several bars and restaurants as well as a boulangerie, creperie, grocery store and fresh fish market.

A sailing school is based on the marina and sea fishing trips can be arranged with local boat owners. Both beaches at Cabourg and Houlgate are clean, safe and supervised by the local lifeguards.

Year after year our guests tell us that the apartment is in a fantastic location to explore the area and a lovely place to return to after a busy day to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony while the sun sets......

The kitchen

The accommodation comprises:

Bathroom - with shower over bath.
2 bedrooms - one with twin beds, the second with a double bed. A travel cot is also available. Both have access via French doors to a balcony with beautiful views of the marina and out to sea. This side of the apartment gets the morning sun and is ideal for leisurely breakfasts watching the boats go out.
The living area has a kitchen corner, with dishwasher, hob, fridge and oven/microwave. There is a double sofa bed and the dining table expands to seat 6 (a high chair is also available). A TV and video is provided together with an extensive selection of games, books and videos. Two sets of French doors lead from the living room to the rear balcony which gets the afternoon and early evening sun.

Duvets and pillows are provided and bedlinen is available to hire from the owners.

There is a private parking space at the rear of the property.

Other:	The apartment is in a building called, Les Marines and is situated on the second floor with wonderful views over the marina to the front, and views over the terracotta tiled, divaises cottages at the rear. The Layout An entrance hall leads into the bright sitting/dining room and kitchen area. There is a large, comfy sofa bed, armchairs, flat screen TV with French digibox, dvd and vcr and a cd player. The dining room table extends to seat 6 (a tripp-trap highchair is also provided). All the living room furniture is in French style with comfy cushions, pretty watercolours on the wall and attractive lamps and mirrors. There is a wide selection of books, videos, dvds and games. The kitchen comprises a four ring hob, fridge (with freezer box), dishwasher, combined oven/microwave/grill together with enough crockery for up to six people. The wide range of restaurants and bars nearby may mean that you rarely use the kitchen however! Two sets of French doors lead out to the rear balcony which is furnished with a table and chairs. This balcony gets the sun from midday frequently until late evening in the summer. A door from the entrance hall leads to a separate lobby with access to the bedrooms and bathroom/separate toilet. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and huge built in wardrobe, a travel cot is stored in this room. Bedroom 2 has two single beds and another large built in wardrobe. A fold up bed is available for use by families with 3 children who do not want to use the sofa bed. Both bedrooms have French doors with spectacular views of the marina and access to a balcony with a bench and planters. This sheltered balcony gets the morning sun and is perfect for a coffee while watching the boats go out. The modern bathroom has a bath with shower over and there is a separate toilet.
