Three beautifully converted stone Gîtes with large swimming pool in the small hamlet of Beauregard. The Gîtes are just a short walk to the local village of Concores with its boulangerie bar and a shop, and ten kilometers from the historic Bastide town of Gourdon with its many shops, bars and restaurants.

Situated in Northern Lot, a 15 minute drive from the Dordogne river the area offers gastronomic cuisine, fantastic scenery, chateaux', canoeing, caves, a number of golf courses, horse riding and much more. In the summer the local campsite opens a bar/café and runs a small nightclub for those wishing to let their hair down of a Saturday night.

Ideal for families or groups of friends these Gîtes offer a little bit of rustic France in one of its most beautiful unspoiled regions.

The Gîtes can be rented individually or together to incorporate larger groups of families and friends.

Garden games are available for guests' use including badminton, boulles and table tennis. A tennis court located in the village is available for use, or why not pit your skills against the local population at the village boulles pitch.

We have a number of bicycles available for our guests use.

There is an area set aside for smaller children with swings, wendy house & toys.

Please contact us directly if you have small children and would like to use any baby equipment such as sterilizers, cots, toys etc that we have available.

Great for a family or one or two couples!

Located nearest to the swimming pool and decorated in cool blue, with traditional beams, the gite comprises a mid-sized downstairs living area, leading to shower room. Upstairs comprises two double bedrooms and a bunkroom.

• Living room area - with sofa-bed to accommodate more visitors, if desired. There also a TV/Video and DVD Player.

About the location

The Lot

The department of Lot, the Dordogne's southern neighbour, lies between the Auvergne and the Périgord and is one of France's most appealing regions. It has wide, gentle valleys and fertile plains, but, above all, it is a land of the Causses whose rocky limestone plateaux cover two-thirds of the department. Explore clusters of oak trees, among whose roots can often be found the prized black truffle for which the region is so renowned.

In places, the River Lot, which ranks alongside the Dordogne for its beauty, has cut deep paths through the Causses twisting in a series of tortuous loops and leaving strips of green through the white wilderness. Tucked away between tobacco fields and walnut groves, the villages of Lot are among the finest and most picturesque of France. All along the banks of the Lot are stunning towns and villages, steeped in history. Puy L'Éveque and St Cirq Lapopie are only two of the many that must be explored.

Gourdon, the capital of the Bouriane, is not more than a ten minute drive away. The town perches high on a limestone butte and can be seen from miles away. The medieval streets are a delight and the farmers' market is a must, giving a fascinating insight into the rural life of the area.

Cahors, the capital of the Quercy region and bounded by the twisting River Lot, is twenty minutes down the road. The town, with its famous Valentré Bridge and Cathedral of Saint- Étienne, bustles by day and is lively by night. The "black" wines of the Cahors region are renowned. Local vineyards offer tastings and the opportunity for leisurely purchasing!

The Dordogne

The Dordogne is a region of sunshine, of history and renowned gastronomy. The climate is temperate (although it gets very warm in summer) and the countryside green, hilly and wooded. The rivers wind their way along the valleys, wandering first this way then that in a series of picturesque meanders: across fertile plains, through orchards and vineyards, beside little farmsteads half hidden amidst maize and tobacco fields. Here and there, they flow between magnificent cliffs, up to 600 feet in places, which command views of a wonderfully varied landscape of multi-coloured fields set off by the slow moving waters.

The River Dordogne lies a little to the north a 15 minute drive from Beauregard Gîtes. Rocamadour, the second most important listed site in France, clings to the cliffs above. And not far away are the medieval towns of Sarlat, Souillac, Domme, Beynac and La Roque Gageac.

The Dordogne and Lot evoke memories of leisurely days pleasantly filled with fishing and swimming from river beaches (one of the principal holiday activities), and of cuisine unsurpassed, even by other proud, provincial exponents of France's gastronomic art. The entire Perigord - Quercy region is a gourmet's paradise. Produce from the area - duck, paté de fois, truffles cabécous (small goat's cheeses) feature on menus everywhere.

How to get here

Toulouse is one of the preferred airports and is served by the budget airlines (some of which go to Carcassone which is reasonably close to Toulouse). Other nearby airports include Rodez and Bergerac. I would recommend Toulouse and Bergerac, which are both no more than 1.5 hours
away (Bergerac around 96km Toulouse around 150km). I would suggest you look at Ryan Air for Carcassone, Bergerac & Rodez, and for Toulouse either BA, or EasyJet. Ryanair also have good offers with Hertz if you intend to book car hire through the link on the Ryan Air web site (remember to include flight details).

If driving the major ferry companies offer a range of crossings and the drive from Frances Northern Ports is aground 8 hours.
