La Cachette is in a quiet residential part of the village of Couhé, just off the N10 south of Poitiers.  The village centre is about 10 minutes walk away and there are 2 supermarkets, chemists, bakeries, bars and restaurants.  The tourist information office is in the town square and the staff there are very helpful.

This villa was built for the 2004 season, to a very high standard and is conveniently situated, near to many attractions.  It has been luxuriously furnished throughout with every care taken to ensure that all your requirements are met.  It is a modern 2-storey building set in half an acre of gardens, which are laid out with private swimming pool and patio area.  Floors throughout are ceramic tiles.

It is the perfect venue for a quiet, tranquil holiday with all the comforts of home.

Accommodation detail

Ground Floor                            

• Large lounge with patio doors to front and rear, both with electric roller shutters.  This room is furnished with 2 x 3 seat and 1 x 2 seat sofas plus single chair.  There are occasional tables, satellite TV, video, DVD and CD player.  At the one end of the lounge, and overlooking the rear garden, is a refectory style dining table with seating for 8 people.
• Large, fully fitted kitchen overlooking the rear garden.  It is equipped with oven, ceramic hob, extractor hood, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave.  The patio doors have electric roller shutters and open on to the rear garden.  A table and 4 chairs have been provided in this area.
• Utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, clothes airer and rotary clothesline for the garden.
• Double bedroom with double bed, wardrobes, chests of drawers bedside tables and lamps.  This bedroom is big enough to accommodate our two Mamas and Papas “Eloise” cot beds.

There are en-suite facilities comprising bath with shower over, WC and wash hand basin.  The bedroom window overlooks the garden and has shutters.

• Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps.  Overlooks rear garden.
• Bedroom 3 with double bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps.  At front of house.
• Bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle and wash hand basin.
• Separate W.C

All the bedrooms have shutters to the windows and 2 Mamas and Papas “Eloise” cot beds are available upon request. 2 High chairs have also been provided and are suitable for infants up to the age of 3 years.

Outside

In the garden at the back of the house is a 10m x 5m private swimming pool. The pool is fenced off so that children have a safe play area directly behind the house.  The pool is a salt water system and has a safety alarm fitted which complies with French Law. It is paved all round and has roman steps leading in to it. There are sun loungers and a large parasol and for our very young visitors we have an inflatable paddling pool. There is a decking area with gazebo.  A table and 8 chairs have been provided in this area and a barbecue is also available.  There are plenty of lawned areas for children to play and run about. The garden is completely fenced in and safe for very young children.                  

About the location

The villa is situated in the second sunniest part of France. The area is ideal for walkers and there are many routes in and around the village. It is a pleasure to ride the roads in the area on bicycles and there are several places to hire one around the area.  Although the villa is on the edge of the village it is very convenient to walk to shops, restaurants and amenities.  The ancient port of La Rochelle is about an hour and a half drive away.  Futuroscope is 40 minutes drive and there are many attractions within an hours drive.  10 kilometres away is La Vallee des Singes which loosely translated means "Monkey Valley" and all our guests agree that it is a place not to be missed.

How to get here

Please contact the owner for full directions. Poitiers Biard is the closest airport but La Rochelle, and Limoges are both about an hour and a half distant.

The TGV arrives at Poitiers and has drop off points at certain times of the day at Saint Saviol and Ruffec.
