This cheerfully decorated gitewith it's large swimmimg pool is perfect for a family of four (or two couples), has loads of old charm and occupies one third of a 16th century house that was once an auberge for the post and their horses and later for cattle buyers. The exposed oak beam ceilings, tall windows, heavy old doors and the wood burning stove help maintain the centuries old character and warmth that one can feel entering from the street side garden, the private entrance to the gîte.

Mimi's is situated on a bustling corner in L'Isle-en-Dodon, a lively farming village, on the Save river and in the heart of very hilly farm country. From Mimi's door one can easily walk to do all their shopping; two butcher shops, three bakeries, three pharmacies, two produce shops, a general store, a bank and a post office are all less than a five minute walk.

The gîte comprises:

Ground Floor:

• Kitchen area - modern with top of the line appliances and all the cooking and dinning ware needed for making home cooked meals. The combination gas/electric range with a rotisserie oven, the large refrigerator/freezer, the dishwasher and microwave all combine to make an efficient kitchen.
• Lounge area - faces the wood burning stove for those cool evenings and where one can view the TV/DVD player or relax with a good novel. Mimi, the resident cat, will probably want to join you.

First Floor:

The bedrooms are elegantly furnished.
• Bedroom 1 - Orange room, overlooks the pool and garden has a double bed
• Bathroom - has a double vanity sink and a shower as well as a washer and dryer
• Bedroom 2 -- Colombage room, has two double beds.

Outside:

The 4.5 X 10 meter swimming pool is exclusevily for the gite guests and is just outside the lounge and adjacent to the private patio also just for the gite guests. Out door dinning and cooking on the barbecue grill will definitely be part of your vacation ritual. The handsomely landscaped garden is full of beautiful flowers and surrounded by high walls that give both intimacy and privacy.

About the location

There are three restaurants in the village of L'Isle-en-Dodon, also within easy walking distance. There are many restaurants within 20 minutes driving; the owners consider several to be excellent/gourmet quality. They take pride in suggesting a restaurant you might also enjoy.

The magnificent town of Carcassone to the east and the religious shrine at Lourdes to the west are each within a two hour drive. There is so much to see and do with the Mediterranean Sea three hours to the east and the Atlantic Ocean (Basque country) three hours to the west. The owners would enjoy assisting you in finding your favourite activities.
