Four Holiday Gites for Couples only between Gourdon and Sarlat in the Dordogne

Les Prinquières is situated in a rural location between Gourdon and Sarlat-La-Canéda on the Dordogne/Lot border, with the Dordogne River being just 5.5km away.

Les Prinquières set in our own 8 acres of tranquil countryside, yet still very close to all the major tourist attractions and activities in the region, is a collection of 19th century farm buildings, which have recently been converted to create four luxurious self contained gîtes exclusively for couples to ensure a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

There is a 10 x 5 metre floodlit pool with terraces to lounge in the summer sun, a pool house with fridge and covered dining area, complete with traditional barbecue. Plenty of sun beds, chairs and parasols are provided for your comfort.

In the shade of the trees, there is a traditional Boules court with lighting to play in the long summer evenings whilst Badminton and Table tennis are also available.

Each gite is comfortably furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen, including washing machines and dishwashers, each bedroom has a modern en-suite. Bed linen is provided and changed weekly. Outside each gite is a private patio with gas barbecue and table and chairs.

Weekly barbecue’s are organised by the pool with wine, bread, salad, cheese and coffee provided, for any guests wishing to join in.

Le Noyer which sleeps 2, is one of 3 gîtes created from an ancient stone barn, and designed with couples in mind. Many of the original stone walls and beams have been retained giving the property a lovely character, whilst having the luxury of a modern kitchen and en-suite shower room. The view from the front of Le Noyer is over our own meadow and across to farmland.
 
At the rear of Le Noyer there is a private patio area complete with gas barbecue and table and chairs for those warm summer evenings, whilst watching the sunset and sampling the local wines. The patio looks out onto a large grassed area and a small lake to the right of the barn. The grassed area leads into our own woodland where you are free to roam as you please.

• Kitchen/Diner – fully fitted, complete with washing machine, full cooker, microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, Toaster, iron and ironing board. Plenty of  crockery and glasses are provided, in fact everything you will need for your holiday catering. The kitchen/diner has doors which lead to the patio area.
• Lounge – which is comfortably furnished with a large sofa, coffee table, book case with a selection of books and a Hi-Fi system with iPod docking/MP3 player. There are open tread stairs that lead to the bedroom.
• Double Bedroom – having a vaulted ceiling displaying the fine original beams, and a ceiling fan. The room is fully carpeted and comfortably furnished with a solid pine double bed, wardrobe and ample drawer space, pretty bed linen is provided and changed weekly. The modern en-suite has a shower cubicle, vanity unit and W.C. A hairdryer is provided.

Les Prinquieres is situated between Gourdon and Sarlat-La-Canéda, the region, famous for its gastronomic specialities, has an abundance of interesting places to visit amongst the most famous in France:

• Château De Fénelon being 4km from Les Prinquières
• Eyzies; Rocamadour; The Grotte de Cougnac; St Cirq Lapopie, Gouffre de Padirac, to name a few all a short drive away.
• If you like markets you can visit one for every day of the week, in fact Sarlat and Gourdon have 2, although they can both get busy on market days so it is best to arrive early.
• We have quite a few small local restaurants or you can choose from many more in Sarlat  and Gourdon

How To Get To Fajoles in Dordogne, South West France

Les Prinquières is easily reached by road, (the Souillac exit of the A20 motorway being approximately 10 miles away), we are situated between Gourdon and Sarlat and reasonably close to a selection of airports, Rodez airport which is 1hour 40mins away, and is a drive through some breathtaking countryside, or Limoges airport, (approx 1hr 30 mins),  Toulouse (approx 1hr 30 mins.) or Bgergerac airport (approx 1hr 30 mins).
