On a hill overlooking the plain below Fayence, in its own garden and surrounded by olive trees sits La Bergerie. This idyllic South facing stone-built house is the perfect retreat for a family or group of friends who want somewhere with charm, peace and tranquility yet want to be close to all that the South of France has to offer with both Fayence and Seillans and all that they offer only a few minutes away.

This spacious house sleeps 6/7 in comfort and has for this season been extensively refurbished and rearranged. There is now a comfortable sitting room which opens onto the newly fitted kitchen/breakfast room with modern appliances and a generous principal bedroom with large en-suite shower room. The house is surrounded by terraces which allow you to follow the sun or shade all day or cool off in the salt water pool which also enjoys fabulous views.

Only 45 minutes drive from Nice airport, Fayence is a perfect base for touring the Cote d'Azur and hills beyond, 30 minutes from Cannes, 25 minutes to the Coast, 45 minutes to Saint Tropez, 75 minutes to Monte Carlo or Aix-en-Provence the villa combines country seclusion with well-appointed facilities and is ideally located for exploring the unspoiled Var region

Accommodation detail

There are entrances on both the Ground and First Floor levels,the interior is comfortably furnished and comprises:

Living Room : With a high beamed ceiling this is an ideal place to hide from the heat of the day cooled by the overhead fan or relax with a drink before a barbecue.  This room leads onto...

 

Kitchen/breakfast room : Newly fitted and with a full range of modern appliances including oven, hob, full size dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer.  There is a table for eight.  The kitchen leads directly onto the upper terrace which has its own barbecue and another larger table and parasol.

 

Principal bedroom – Lavender : With its own new fitted and spacious en-suite shower room this room has a large hand painted wardrobe and fantastic views.

 

Bedroom – Caraway : With a glazed door onto the terrace and phenomenal views this double room on the ground floor has its own en-suite bathroom.

 

Bedroom – Bay : A twin room which also has access onto the ground floor terrace

 

Bedroom – Thyme : On the same floor as the main bedroom this lovely twin bedded room has a pretty wardrobe and its own shower room nearby as well wonderful views.

 La Bergerie sleeps 6/7 people, it is not suited to 4 couples, the room configuration suits 3 couples, or family use of all 4 bedrooms.

Outside:

La Bergerie has several terraces, both of which have barbecues, tables and seating for 8/10 together with magnificent views over the plain. The lower terrace has a tiled veranda, outdoor fridge and a shaded seating area under the cherry tree, there are steps leading from here to the pool.  There is a separate tiled and decked area beside the pool with a choice of sun or shade from the olive trees and sun loungers.  The upper terrace and garden, outside the kitchen, has a choice of shade from the trees or the sun deck which enjoys amazing views and sun all day.

All these terraces are private, not overlooked with sun throughout the day and beyond sunset are equally enjoyable by night if you chose to sit out and watch for shooting stars.

About the location

Deep in the heart of the Var region, Fayence is a beautiful Saracen hilltop village far from the madding crowds of the Cote d'Azur and only 45 minutes from Nice airport. Your holiday can be as relaxed or as active as you like. Regional attractions include:

Fayence is one of four medieval hilltop villages, others being Seillans, Callian and Montouroux. Each village has its own distinct identity from the bustle of Fayence market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings to the award winning beauty of Seillans with its square surrounded by little bistros. With a Farmer's Market and three supermarkets all of which stock fresh local produce including fish delivered daily from the coast, two excellent wine merchants and very good local Rosé direct from three local vineyards, five bakers and fourteen local restaurants you are really spolit for choice in Fayence.

• Experience an hours gliding from Fayence Gliding Club - or just watch the gliders silently twirl above Seillans while you laze by the villa pool. You can also have a good meal at the club
• Lac St. Cassien - stunning lake with water sports only 15 minutes drive away. Eat at one of the many restaurants around the lake with panoramic views after a refreshing swim or sail.
• Local Restaurants - these are many and varied from basic French cooking in the local cafés to gourmet fayre at the nearby Castelleras which is just the other side of the lake.
• Gorge du Verdon only 90 minutes away for a full day's family fun - spectacular area for walking, touring, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking.
• Cannes – promenade along the glamorous 'Croisette' waterfront.
• Antibes – see the luxury yachts in Port Vauban and visit the charming ancient quarter.
• St. Tropez – an hour's drive to see the quaint harbour filled with the grandest of yachts, and surrounded by chic boutiques, fabulous beaches and stunning nightlife. 
• La Napoule - attractive private and public beaches - 20minutes.
• Monaco - grand hotels and casino, port, palace, old quarter, museum and beautiful gardens - 75mins drive.
• Grasse - the world's perfume capitol with three great perfumeries, each with guided tours.
• Biot - famous for its glass blowing. There are also very good restaurants worth visiting.
• Italy - visit the famous market at Ventimiglia and pick up a "designer" bargain or two, about 90 minutes drive.

How to get here

To find Fayence/Seillens follow the Autoroute A8 from Nice to Junction 39. Take the D37 past Lac de St. Cassien until you reach the D562. Turn left and continue until you meet the D19 this will bring you to Fayence, we provide more detailed directions.
