Lovingly restored recently, Le Fenil nestles in the small peaceful hamlet of Lavayssiere which lies just 4 miles north of Gourdon, the stunning capital of the Bouriane area. Situated on the border of the two most popular departments of SW France, Le Fenil is ideally placed for exploration of both the Lot and Dordogne rivers and valleys.

Built of local stone and retaining many of its original beams and features, the barn has been fitted to the highest standard employing master craftsmen using local materials. Set in the 4 acre grounds of the owners' traditional Lotois farmhouse, Le Fenil and its new 12 x 6 metre pool is surrounded by lawn, shrubs and an abundance of nut and fruit trees providing a haven of peace and tranquillity for visitors. The surrounding area, with its many walks and cycle tracks, exhibits much in the way of true beauty and wildlife.

Designed over two floors, the internal accommodation is spacious, light and welcoming and comprises:

Large open plan ground floor which includes:

• Lounge/dining area with large oak dining table and chairs, two sofas with coffee table, stereo system with CD/cassette player and radio, shelving unit with a selection of books and games and French windows to front and rear.
• Fully equipped hand built oak kitchen with equipment of the highest quality, including gas oven and 5 ring hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee-maker, toaster and washing machine, accessed via a hand-built pine staircase, the first floor provides:
• Double bedroom with large double bed, one with en-suite shower room.
• Separate shower room

2 further bedrooms can be made available if required, sleeping a maximum of 6

Outside

Le Fenil has a private sun terrace overlooking the garden with patio table, chairs and barbecue.

Table tennis, badminton and swimming pool games are provided.

About the location

Lavayssiere is some 20 mins from the very beautiful medieval town of Sarlat; 30 mins from the breathtaking beauty of Rocamadour and its cliffs: 40 mins from Cahors, the capital of the Lot department with its famous and very beautiful Pont Valentre bridge. It is ideally positioned for visits to the wealth of chateaux, medieval castles, vineyards, picturesque towns and famous bastides, not forgetting the world famous prehistoric caves, with their fascinating wall paintings. The Grottes de Cougnac are just 5 min. drive away from Le Fenil!
