Cottage in Enviable Position

L'Etang is a character cottage in a perfect location. If you are looking for a peaceful break with a dramatic backdrop then this is for you. The cottage has the best of both worlds – an in the middle of nowhere feeling, but with the benefit of being a 5 minute walk from the village of Cerisy La Foret, which has a bar/restaurant, bakery, general store, butchers, post office, bank with cashpoint machine and a pharmacy.

Cerisy la Foret nestles on the edge of Cerisy Forest which has woodland paths for walking, cycling or pony riding. The cottage also has english satellite TV and a DVD player with a selection of DVD's, so you can keep up to date with UK affairs if you wish. There is a log fire, if you want to just curl up and forget the outside world exists.

The cottage is approx 1 hour from Cherbourg, and Caen, so you can sail into either port. The towns of Bayeux and St Lo, are only a 15 minute drive away and contain all you need in terms of shops and restaurants.

Holiday Accommodation at L'Etang

L'Etang comfortably sleeps 6, but a travel cot and high chair are available if required. There is a modern kitchen well fitted if you wish to eat in.

Pets are allowed.

Ground Floor:

  • Kitchen - large and fully equipped with fridge, cooker, microwave and washing machine, overlooking the rear garden garden.
  • Lounge and dining area - with two large windows overlooking the Abbey. Open fireplace, table and chairs. Two sofas, television, english satellite and DVD player with DVD's.
  • Double bedroom – double bed with French doors onto back garden
  • Bathroom - has bath with shower attachment, hand basin and toilet.

Narrow spiral staircase to upper floor.

First Floor:

Large rooms with views of the Abbey

  • Double bedroom - has a king size bed, bedside cabinet, clothes hanging area, and a dressing table
  • Twin Bedroom - has two single beds with a bedside cabinet and a clothes hanging area. It is accessed through the double bedroom

Outside:

At the front there is parking for 2 cars and a decked area.

Back garden with gazebo, decking, lawn area, barbecue, table and chairs

About Cerisy La Foret in Manche, Normandy

Situated on the edge of the village overlooking a 6th Century Abbey and only 5 minutes walk to the village centre where you will find a boulangerie, butcher, chemist, grocer, bank with ATM post office and bar tabac which does food.

The nearest supermarket is to be found in Le Molly Litray 6 km while in the nearby medieval towns of Bayeux and the market town of Saint Loboth approximately 14km away you will find a large choice of shops and restaurants to suit all.

The coast and landing beaches are some 20 km away.
