Traditional Villa in Beautiful Unspoilt Village

This traditional French home caters for up to 6 people and is situated in the tranquil village of Autignac, in Languedoc Roussillon - France's largest wine producing region. With its beautiful golden beaches, mountain peaks and medieval hill top villages, Languedoc-Roussillon is one of France's most diverse landscapes.

The house is one of the older buildings in Autignac and has recently been modernised to make it family friendly and an ideal holiday home.  Autignac is a small, beautiful, unspoiled village in the heart of the Languedoc region, ten minutes north of Beziers, and surrounded by vineyards.  It is a twisting maze of houses and lanes that are fascinating to explore, full of traditional French architecture and ambiance.  Autignac has its own bakers, butchers, chemist, post office and general store as well as the café by the church where the local vignerons take their well-earned lunch and meet in the evenings to enjoy a 'pastis' or 'biere'.  The sunsets are always spectacular as the sun goes down behind the mountains.

Holiday Accommodation at Maison des Vignerons

Ground foor

  • Cellar - an ancient well, a manger and a wine tank, all dating back to when the house was a working vigneron's (wine grower's) house.  There is also ample car parking with automatic security doors.

First floor

  • Kitchen – fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, double sink, and gas cooker.
  • Living area – a spacious open-plan living room and dining area with table and chairs for up to 8 people, wood burning stove, ample comfortable seating for all guests, plus large television with surround sound DVD/CD.

Second foor

  • Three bedrooms – 1 twin, and two doubles.  All with ceramic tiled floors and comfortable furnishings throughout.
  • Bathroom – comprises a double vanity unit, bath and a seperate shower cubicle.

Outside

  • Raised first floor sun terrace with patio dining furniture.
  • Utility room with washing machine.
  • Traditional secure walled garden with barbecue.

About Autignac in Hérault, Languedoc Roussillon

The region is said to boast the highest annual sunshine in France (300 days has been claimed).  The winters are short, really only December and January and hold their own charm as the skies remain clear and blue.  Spring and autumn days can be beautiful with really warm sunshine making them ideal times for walkers to visit.  June, July and August are the hottest times of the year, with average daytime temperatures in the high 20s, although they can reach the mid 30s at times.  Sun screen is a must!

How To Get To Autignac in Hérault, South of France and the Riviera

The village of Autignac is north of Beziers, just off the D909.  The nearest airport is Montpellier, but it is also a similar distance from Carcassonne airport.
