La Grande Terche is one of the ski resorts within the Portes du Soleil ski region. This area encompasses 12 inter-connecting ski-stations spanning the French-Swiss border.

The village itself is very quiet and friendly. The larger resorts of Morzine/Avoriaz and Les Gets are only 10 minutes drive away with their varied restaurants, shops and attractions.

Accommodation detail

The apartment is on the third floor (top) of Le Domaine Des Cimes, a small tasteful block of apartments, which is situated approximately 200 metres from the gondola. Conditions permitting, you can ski to and from the apartment from the lift/piste.

On entering the apartment there are two bunk beds in the hallway. Opposite is a bathroom with bath and hand-held shower and next to this is a separate W.C. There is a dining area with a fully equipped kitchenette (fridge, hob, microwave/grill). A balcony leads off this area which has panoramic views over the mountains and valley. There is an LCD TV with video/DVD player and a cassette/CD player.

Upstairs there is a lounge area with plenty of comfy seating and a 32" LED TV and Blu-ray player. The double bedroom leads off this area.

The maximum occupancy is for 4 persons. Duvets and pillows are provided but it is necessary to bring duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases, bath and kitchen towels. 

There is a covered reserved parking space.

About the location

The hamlet of La Grande Terche has ski rental shops, the ski-school, several restaurants and a few small shops. The village of St Jean D'Aulps has a small convenience store, various local food shops, restaurants, a Post Office, banks and the Tourist Office. There is a fully stocked supermarket which is approximately 7-8 minutes drive away but in the ski season there is a small Sherpa store next to the gondola station.  Morzine and Les Gets have all major facilities including ice rinks, cinemas, banks, and many good restaurants and bars.

How to get here

Car: 9 hours drive from Channel Tunnel. All motorway driving apart from the last hour of the trip. Detailed route is provided.

Air: Daily flights from the UK to Geneva are now offered by Easyjet, Go, British Airways, Swissair and Crossair. Major car hire firms are at Geneva airport and driving time from airport to the apartment is approximately 1 hr 15 mins.
