Refurbished Normandy Longhouse

A traditional Normandy cottage set within 3 acres of garden which has been completely refurbished and brought up to date. Located in a small hamlet adjacent to a farm, it offers a truly peaceful and secluded holiday haven.

Within easy reach of the town of Neufchatel-en-Bray (under 10 minutes drive) and Londinieres (even closer), both of which offer bars, restaurants and shopping, the cottage boasts all modern facilities including central heating, modern bathroom with jacuzzi bath and bodyjet shower, shaker style freestanding kitchen with all facilities, UK Satellite TV, DVD player (with movies) and hi-fi. It also retains its traditional feel and incorporates a log fire in the centre of the living area.

Holiday Accommodation at The Cottage

The cottage sleeps a maximum of 8 people and works well with 4 adults and 4 children.  There is central heating to all rooms.

Ground floor

• Kitchen - large room with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, all crockery, glassware and cooking/eating utensils.
• Lounge/diner - through room incorporating diner/breakfast area separated from lounge area by centrally located glazed fire/chimney. English satellite TV, DVD player, Hi-fi.
• Bedroom 1 - (4'6" double bed) wardrobe and chest of drawers.
• WC
• Utility/Wash Room - with washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board.

First floor

(3 Bedrooms in 'walk though' format).

• Bedroom 2 - two single futon beds, built in wardrobes (good dressing room), TV, DVD and hi-fi.
• Bedroom 3 - 5' double, chest of drawers.
• Bedroom 4 – two 3' singles (this room also has independent access to stairs to outside).
• Bathroom - large room with jacuzzi bath, separate shower cubicle and twin sinks.

Outside

Outbuildings, treehouse, barbecue and garden furniture.

Travel cot and pushchair available.

About Lucy in Seine-Maritime, Normandy

The cottage offers an ideal base from which to explore all that Normandy has to offer. The lovely beaches at Vers les Roses and St Valery, just a few miles on from Dieppe, a pretty town with a Saturday market, old cobbled streets, and of course lots of seafood restaurants and bars.

Also within easy reach is the ancient town of Fecamp and its Benedictine monastery where you can see the famous liquors being made (and of course sample it at the end of your tour!). Follow the coast even further and you will reach the historic Normandy landing beaches.

Or head in the opposite direction to Dieppe, and explore the ancient and very pretty town of Eu with a large royal palace and gardens in which you can walk free of charge, or the vast stony beach at Mers-Les-Bains with its pretty beach huts in summer and Le Treport, with its brightly painted fishing fleet, promenade and seafood restaurants.

It is well worth a day trip further south to Honfleur, Deauville and Trouville. Honfleur is about 1¼ hours away and incredibly pretty. Trouville and Deauville have fantastic beaches and are about 15 mins on from Honfleur.

The beautiful city of Rouen is only a 30 minute drive. Explore the cobbled streets and ancient architecture, the market place where they torched Joan of Arc, or the many churches and cathedral.  Heading back north into Picardy towards Calais, there is a huge beach at Berck sur Mer, or, a little nearer to the house are the pretty towns of St. Valery sur somme and Le Crotoy. Both are worth seeing, and do not miss the little train that runs along the sea front between the two. There is also a big beach at Cayeux sur mer.

A good amusement park is Bagatelle which caters for all ages from about 3 to 15, located between Berck and Le Touquet.

There is a huge 'Park Ornithologique' area of marshland, beach and birdlife. which is situated just north of Le Crotoy, near the pretty town of Rue.

Finally, there is a beautiful forest between the house and Eu, with lots of wildlife to see. There is also Monet's garden at Giverney, which is quite a drive (around 90 mins) but well worth it.

How To Get To Lucy in Seine-Maritime, North West France

The property is a 1 1/2 hour drive from Calais (or slightly quicker if going via the Eurotunnel) or a 30-40 minute drive from Dieppe.
