The small Cathedral city of Coutances, (about 7 miles beyond Roncey) provides a more extensive range of products and seasonal activities including festivals, concerts, cinema, theatre and art exhibitions. The most noteworthy events include the yearly, week-long Jazz festival in May, and the August Festival of French Period Costumes, Instruments and Produce.

For the botanist there are numerous flower gardens and displays, complimenting the unspoilt, verdant hedgerows of this cider producing, dairy-farming region. Whilst for the naturalist, buzzards, red squirrels and barn owls are but a few of the local residents who abound in this mild climate.
A short 8 mile journey will take you to the nearest of many clean, safe and expansive beaches. A further 8 miles on and Breville beach has the added luxury of a golf course. You can walk for miles on these beautiful sandy beaches.
