La Poterne is on two levels. The accommodation comprises:

Downstairs

• Well equipped kitchen
• Cozy dining room
• Shower and separate WC.

Upstairs

• 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 1 with 2 twin beds)
• Lovely sitting room with stone walls and an open fire ideal for romantic winter breaks.
• Cot available.

Outside

• Privately hedged garden with outdoor furniture and charcoal barbecue.
• Private driveway and parking.
  

About the location

Stigny is a typical and tranquil Burgundian village surrounded by breathtaking countryside and forests. Paris (Easy access 2hrs by motorway 1hr by fast train TGV Station: Montbard), it is close to many of the major wine producing areas such as Chablis and Beaune as well as the region of Champagne. A daily delivery van provides fresh bread and pastries and a 5-minute car drive takes you to the beautiful 'chateau' village of Ancy-le-Franc where you will find all necessary facilities including a post office, bank, medical centre, butchers shop and delicatessen with delicious regional dishes, homemade pâtés for those who don't want to spend holiday time cooking! Not to mention the excellent restaurants for all budgets throughout the area.

A great base to explore Château d'Ancy le Franc and Tanlay to name just a few. Also close to some beautiful medieval towns namely Noyers, Auxerre and Vezelay. Abbey de Fontenay and the Prieure De Vausse, a Cistercian Priory are both worth visiting.

Plenty of gastronomic towns to village including Dijon with it mustard and pain epice, Epoisse (cheese). Not forgetting the local markets of Ancy le Franc (Thurs am) and Chablis (Sun am).

There is plenty to see and do however if all you fancy is a walk in the country just stroll out your back door or along the Burgundy canal (5mins by car) at Chassignelles.
