Bouyric is a tastefully restored 18th century barn on the edge of the acclaimed wine making village of Cocumont, in the Lot et Garonne. With stunning views across its 16 acres of wooded valley, Bouyric is perfect for a relaxing retreat, and an excellent base to explore the local attractions of Bordeaux, the Atlantic coast, the world renowned vineyards of St. Emillion, and the Canal du Midi. Also the local wine cave at  Cocumont appeared on Rick Stien's TV jouney down the Canal du Midi.

The barn has been restored with care to preserve its original stone work, colombage walls and magnificent oak beams. Furnished to a high standard, each room offers luxury in a charming Gascony setting. The accommodation includes:

• Four large bedrooms (3 doubles, 1 twin)
• A fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, dishwasher etc.)
• A vast living/dining hall
• A mezzanine
• A bathroom/WC
• A shower room/WC.

Outside

Enjoy unspoilt views across the valley from the terraces of the private pool (10m x 5m). To give maximum comfort, the pool has a salt water system which is kinder to sensitive skin.

About the location

Surrounded by vineyards, Cocumont village produces excellent wines, and has a fascinating history which dates back to the 11th Century when Benedictine monks first settled and built the medieval church.

Fresh croissants are only a two minute stroll away as Cocumont village has everything you need for relaxed French living – patisserie, boulangerie, wine cave, grocers, pharmacy, tabac, bank, post office, bar and tennis courts.

Take advantage of local walking and cycling routes (maps available from the village), or enjoy a leisurely boat ride down the Canal du Midi which is only 5km away (motorboats and kayaks to hire).

Local restaurants offer superb cuisine at reasonable prices, and the many Chateaux and vineyards are well worth a visit.

The enchanting medieval city of Bazas is only a fifteen minute drive away, with beautiful architecture, antique shops and excellent restaurants, all of which should not be missed.

Bargain hunters will enjoy the bustling local markets, including the weekly evening market in the charming town of Marmande, only 15km away. The town also boasts a selection of boutiques and large supermarkets.
