Chalet Amelie is a luxury chalet situated in the traditional farming village of Grand Gondon on the outskirts of Bourg St Maurice-Les Arcs just a 2 hour drive south east from Lyon.

The chalet comprises:

• Bedroom 1 - large twin room with private door leading out onto the decking. Ensuite bathroom with large oval bath with mountain views.
• Bedroom 2 - twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom and balcony overlooking the pool.
• Bedroom 3 - twin bedroom with views of Mount Blanc.
• Bedroom 4 - cosy twin room.
• Bathroom  
• Separate WC
• Open plan living/dining area - with large table and chairs for dining overlooking pool area. The living room has plenty of comfy sofas and armchairs with satellite TV, DVD, Stereo and Playstation.
• Modern fully equipped kitchen - with patio doors leading out onto pool area. Fan assisted oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher.
• Separate laundry room - with washing machine and access out onto side decking with washing line.

• Private outdoor pool 10m x 5m with decking - available in the summer only. 
• Sun loungers and chairs for sunbathing.

About the location

The chalet is situated in the traditional farming village of Grand Gondon, 4 kms from the market town of Bourg St Maurice. In Bourg St Maurice there are plenty of shops and restaurants and a traditional market on Saturday mornings selling Savoyard fare. From the chalet you can walk down to the Isere river where there are plenty of activities on offer such as white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking. A 13 km track runs along the Isere where you can walk, roller blade or cycle into Bourg St Maurice. The ski lifts are open in July and August giving access to mile upon mile of walking and cycling trails in stunning mountain scenery in the shadow of Mont Blanc. The glaciers at Tignes/Val d'Isere, La Plagne and Val Thorens (open subject to weather conditions) are only a 30 minute drive so it is possible to ski or board in the morning and lie by the pool in the afternoon! For tennis enthusiasts there is a hard court 5 minutes walk from the chalet.

• National park of Rosuel is a 20 minute drive along mountain roads for some spectacular mountain walks to the lake at La Plagne with waterfalls along the way.
• Bonneval sur Arcs – beautiful alpine village situated on the Col d'Iseran which is the highest mountain pass in Europe crossing into Italy.
• Drive over the spectacular Petit St Bernard Pass into Italy – visit Courmayeur or Chamonix for the day.
• Visit Annecy – the Venice of the Alps with its alpine lake and medieval town built over a series of canals.
• Geneva – 2.5 hours drive with its lake and old quarter
• Lyon - France's 2nd city with its historical centre
• Local vineyards
• Cheese farms making the famous Prince of Cheeses – Gruyere

How to get here

Chalet Amelie is situated in the village of Grand Gondon just outside the popular town of Bourg St. Maurice. Situated in the Paradiski area of Les Arcs, it is about 90 miles due East of LYON.

GETTING HERE BY RAIL - Eurostar - From London Waterloo or Ashford is only 7.5 hours direct (winter only). For prices and timetable contact Eurostar direct or go to their web site. Bourg St Maurice station is well served by the French rail network, see sncf web site.
