Attractive Cottage with Private Garden and Pool

La Pouge is a sympathetically converted traditional stone barn situated on the edge of a peaceful hamlet in a quiet, little-used lane with safe off-road parking. This charming detached cottage with its tranquil grassy garden and 'extended season' chlorine-free pool backs onto an unused bridleway with lovely views beyond and nearby forests for walks.

It is the perfect base for discovering the natural beauty and charm of this little-known historic area with its lakes and woodland and its abundance of wildlife.

Two km from the medieval Chateau de Brie, one of the many chateaux on the route of Richard the Lionheart, it is within a few km of Chalus where he met his demise.

This newly converted property offers well-equipped and comfortable accommodation of a very high standard whilst retaining many of its original features.

About Chalus in Haute-Vienne, Limousin

Restaurant

2 km/5 minutes drive will take you to the Chateau de Brie which has a charming restaurant/bar called 'La Grille' with a lovely garden set in the middle of the countryside, ideal for early evening drinks or evening meal. A friendly "relais" is just 3km down the road serving set menus and a la carte for lunch and dinner. In Chalus and Oradour sur Vayres, the local towns (6/9 km away) you will find a variety of restaurants and cafes.

Local Amenities

The nearest boulangerie is Champagnac La Riviere (4 km) and the nearest supermarket / post office / banks / newsagents etc are in Chalus (6km). Chalus has a market every Friday.

There are a number of lakes for swimming and boating with lifeguards and sandy beaches within 10 – 20 kilometres.

Festivals, fetes and fireworks are held most weekends in one or more of the region's towns or villages throughout the summer.
