La Mirabelle is a 5 bedroom (sleeps up tp 13) detached villa, just miutes from sandy beaches.

It offers luxury accommodation including projector TV with full sky+ packages, huge motorised screen, Wii console with great interactive famiy games, 24 internet access, iPod docking station, Jacuzzi bath, out-door play area with swigs/slide & tabble tennis table, plus a large indoor TV/play room stacked with toys for all ages, DVD's & Videos.  La Mirabelle boasts a wonderful 10 x 5m heated and fenced swimming pool and wonderful HEATED toddler pool and a large indoor tv/playroom...... best of all the villa is only an 8 minutes drive from the wonderful sandy 'blue flag' beaches on the Vendee Coast

We specifically cater for families with children by supplying everything you should need. We have an extensive library of books, lots of children’s board games & toys from dressing up clothes to train sets, building blocks, puzzles, baby toys and a wonderful dolls house.

For families traveling with young babies we supply, a steriliser, bottle warmer, food blender, a travel cot, changing mat, baby bath, high chair, push chair, bouncy chair plus lots of baby toys.

Only approximately, 1 hour from La Rochelle and Nantes and a 3-hour drive from St Malo, La Mirabelle makes for the perfect getaway for those wanting a quick, easy trip to sandy beaches and sunshine.

The famous Vendee coast - referred to locally as the Côte-de-Lumpier (Coast of Light) has fantastic child friendly sandy beaches, stretching along 13km of which 8km face directly south. The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer is approved as a "Kids' Station", which means it is a safe environment for children to play in.

The swimming pool conforms to the new French safely law - it has both a safety fence and child's lockable safety gate. The heated toddler pool is within the secured fenced area and not able to be accessed unless with parent supervision.

The pool has been designed and built with childrens enjoyment in mind, the shallow end of the pool has large steps which have been made wider than normal - one is a metre wide which makes an ideal area for young babies and toddlers to play in. The shallow end is only 1.05m deep (i.e. shallower than normal), so young children can stand and play in the water easily. The shallow end then gradually slopes down to a depth of 1.55m allowing most adults to stand.

The pool is an ideal depth and size for that all important water sports competition too or for the more energetic morning swimmers. The large decked area around the pool has lots of sunbathing and relaxing areas.

The pool area is surrounded by decking and grassed area with plenty of sunloungers for sunbathing where the whole family can relax and enjoy themselves.  The large heated PRIVATE swimming pool measures 10m x 5m with the HEATED toddler pool next to it. The whole pool area is within a fully enclosed walled area only accessible by lockable gates (which the parents have the keys for!)

In the large garden the kids will just love the children’s play area with swings, slide, sandpit. and table tennis table. You will also be delighted with the large chimney style barbecue which cooks food to perfection! Overlooking the gardens, there is a decked area leading from the patio doors with a motorised awning for dining outside.

There is ample parking and secure electronic gates at the front of the property.

Accommodation detail

The accommodation comprises:

Superbly appointed kitchen- has double patio doors, which opens onto a south facing gardens and terrace covered by a large gazebo, which offers a welcome dappled shaded area during the day. The kitchen has been meticulously furnished and equipped with a large 5 burner range cooker, (always easier when cooking for large numbers) plus two dishwashers and a large farmhouse kitchen table where you can enjoy your freshly baked croissants!  We have everything you would expect to find in the kitchen including a washing machine, microwave and a huge stainless steel '700' wide fridge freezer - (very important!) lots of large serving dishes, crokery and cutlery so there will be no shortage when cooking a large family meal. 

You will also find kitchen essentials like washing up liquid, dish clothes, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling film, kitchen towels & salt & pepper grinders at your disposal. A few less items to pack and always appreciated.

35m2 Indoor Play-room - the little ones will find train sets, dressing up clothes with princess slippers and shoes to keep them entertained as well as lots more toys, videos, books. They can 'chill out' on the comfortable sofa and watch one of the Disney classics (which are all supplied!) whilst you relaxing in the sitting room!

The airy sitting room has a projector TV displayed on a huge motorised screen and offers the full sky+ packages including: movies, children’s and sports. Also not to be missed is the Wii console with a selection of interactive games for the whole family to enjoy and have fun with.

Relax in one of the large leather sofas and enjoy the 'home cinema' experience or just relax with a glass of wine and a good book! (A huge library of excellent books supplied!!!) or plug in your iPod to the excellent Sony surround sound system and indulge just for a little while, listening to your favourite artist!

La Mirabelle has five bedrooms, 2 masters, 1 twin/double and 1 triple bedroom with bunk beds and single bed and 1 quadruple bedroom with two sets of bunk beds.  All double beds have luxurious mattress toppers for maximum comfort.

Just for the little ones - La Mirabelle is supplied with a travel cot and bedding, high chair, changing mat, pushchair, plus essentials like a sterilizer, bottle warmer, baby bath and food blender.

About the location

La Mirabelle is just a 5 minute drive to the wonderful village of Angles, which has a large street market on both Wednesday and Sunday mornings in the summer months - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.

In the summer months Angles organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.

Located so close to the village of Angles, you can either take a short drive in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants, (or have the delivered each morning!) or visit in the evenings for a choice of great restaurants.

Angles has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, an aromatherapist, a pharmacy, five cafés/bars and four restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, two butchers, a fishmonger and a fruit & vegetable shop.

The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 10 minutes away. Early risers can choose from a range of freshly-caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustine and gambas at the town's fish market which is open every weekday at 5am. Those who prefer a lie-in can sample the seafood later in the day at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants in the town.

La Rochelle – Aquarium
Both children and adults will enjoy La Rochelle's wonderful Aquarium, which boasts 10,000 specimens from the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the tropics. With three million litres of water and 64 different aquariums, you are bound to see Nemo!

Indian Forest Adventure
Marked trails in the forest up to 20ft high give you up to 122 different challenges. You are suspended by safety harnesses and are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest. Great area for toddlers too, with themed bouncy castles, ball park, rock climbing, inflatable park, trampolines, swings, slides, ropes and pony rides to name but a few! Excellent day out for the children and for adults and only 5 minutes away, Great fun and highly recommended.

Marais Poitevin
Explore its miles of waterways from a barque, canoe or kayak and discover all the local wildlife - from otters to osprey. A wonderful experience to discover the wildlife in this area.

Futuroscope Theme Park
An absolute must. Futuroscope offers you the chance to take part in an original experience and become part of one of the legendary scenes in cinema history. The park has 60 hectares of leisure space for everyone to enjoy, with street theatre, exhibitions, relaxation
areas, games, and more, to give you the perfect, fun-filled outing. Just one example of the wonderful activities on offer is the 3D space adventures where you will experience alongside the astronauts and cosmonauts the elating sensation of floating in mid-air 407 km above the Earth, the guaranteed thrills of an excursion in space and the daily challenges of life in orbit. A wonderful experience and something for everyone.

Puy du Fou Grand Park
Puy du Fou is where time stands still, you'll see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle and Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles! In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. There are minstrels in the heart of the woods and master falconers in the meadows. This huge area covering 40 hectares will be an instant hit with children and adults alike.

Golf Courses in the Vendee
Use your time with us to experience playing on a variety of courses, even on the same day. This is a great way of discovering courses in Western France. A '10 green-fee package' offers you play without membership and as often as you like.
