The 300 meter landscaped garden has fruit trees, fig and cherry, and there is an off-road private parking area.

About the location

Historic Morlanne is rated as one of the most beautiful villages in Aquitaine. It is dominated by its castle complete with moat. The streets are lined with 17th and 18th century residences which link the castle to the secular abbey and the 14th century fortified church. It is located in North Bearn, on a hill, with views in the near distance of the Pyrennees mountain range, and is surrounded by forests and vineyards. The nearest large towns are Pau and Orthez. Pau airport, served by Ryanair, is 15 kilometres from the village.

The house is one minute from the village centre, with its fortified church, castle, Ferme Auberge (a local farmer cooks his own products i.e. lamb, goose, duck, chicken etc and his restaurant is open most nights and the weekends), a pottery workshop with snack bar. A local baker comes every morning and a grocer every Saturday.The nearest large supermarket is in Arzaq, 8 kms away, where there are also boulangeries, butchers charcuteries, other shops and good restaurants.

Morlanne is on the pilgrim way of Saint Jacques de Compostelle and many walkers pass through. It is also an ideal place to stay to visit Lourdes There is a 1km signposted walk in the area around the village "le chemin d'Emilie".

The house is an ideal base for exploring the numerous chateaux and museums (La maison du Jambon de Bayonne in Arzacq for instance).

The village lies central to the well known Madriran, Tursan and Jurancon wine areas.

The Pyrenees, the fishing ports and beaches of the Atlantic coast (Biarritz and St Jean de Luz), Pays Basque and Spain are all within easy reach.
