Pette Loup, the perfect antidote for twenty first century life. Situated on the edge of the Brenne National Park, renowned for its outstanding natural beauty.

The property is set within private grounds, skirted by woodland and forest, with stunning panoramic views over local vineyards and miles of open countryside.

Relax on the terrace by the superb swimming pool, enjoy a game of boules, or simply stroll or cycle along the quiet country lanes, appreciating mother nature at her best.

Pette Loup is just outside the bustling market village of Tournon St Martin, which stands on the impressive River Creuse, a tributary of the River Loire. The village has all the day to day amenities you will need, including a bakers, chemist, post office, two small supermarkets, a bank, newsagents and restaurants. The large towns of Le Blanc and La Roche Posay are only 15 to 20 minutes drive away.

The swimming pool is fully enclosed and has a tiered terrace area with loungers, table, chairs and parasol. It is also lit for those late evenings.

The patio area has a fixed barbecue. There is also a double garage and ample parking space within the grounds.

Accommodation detail

The accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

• Fully fitted kitchen/diner with double sized gas oven, five burner hob, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, dining table and chairs. French doors lead onto a patio area.
• Airy lounge with tiled floor, a wood burning stove and a ceiling fan. Again french doors open onto the patio area. Stairs lead to the enclosed mezzanine bedroom.
• Mezzanine twin bedroom with pine furnishings and floor. A dormer window overlooks the stunning views of the countryside.
• Separate utility room which houses the washing machine.
• Shower/bathroom including WC, bath /shower, wash hand basin.
• Separate shower room

Ground floor

• Double bedroom with marble tiled floor, fully fitted wardrobes and a ceiling fan. Once more French doors lead onto the patio area.

First floor

• Double bedroom with wooden floor and beamed ceiling, again with views of the countryside.
• Twin bedroom , similar in character to the double, with its own wash hand basin.
• Separate W.C

A perfect gîte for those who find stairs difficult as washing and WC facilities, along with a double bedroom, are all on ground level.

The gîte is centrally heated and available throughout the year. All bedrooms are equipped with fans. Linen and towels are provided and changed on a weekly basis. A cot and high chair are provided.

About the location

Pette Loup is on the edge of the Brenne National Park which, for the more energetic, offers a variety of activities such as water skiing, sailing and horse riding. Or just relax by fishing in one of the 1000 natural lakes within the park.

A visit to Futuroscope is a must for an absolutely fascinating family day out. Marvel at the futuristic architecture and enjoy the interactive activities it offers.

The spa town of La Roche Posy not only offers water with healing properties (the locals would have us believe) but also has a 9 and 18 hole golf course, a casino and regular horse racing days at the race course. Once your flutter has paid off you can treat the family to lunch in one of the many superb restaurants or bars that line the very pretty town square.

The Haute-Touche Zoological park is one of the largest in France and just a 15 minute drive from Pette Loup. A very reasonably priced and entertaining family day out.

The historic town of Loches is another fascinating day out. Browse around the shops in the cobbled streets beneath the citadel and castle which is complete with dungeons.

For some "retail therapy," the capital city of the Touraine, Tours, mixes ancient and modern very successfully. The old town has almost a Dickensien feel, with its theatre district, stunning cathedral and narrow streets of antique shops. Tours is a university city, and therefore has a very diverse feel as it caters for its inhabitants and visitors.

And of course there are the many châteaux for which the region is quite rightly renowned. Chenonceaux being one of the most outstanding examples, or the exquisite gardens of Villandry.

Last but by no means least, the wines of the region. Visit the vineyards and take the "taste of the Touraine" home with you.
