Ty-er-Yar and Les Tournesols are a pair of ancient granite cottages, built from traditional local stone and being at least 200 years old, set in the heart of the peaceful hamlet of Locrio near the village of Guern.

Both cottages are recently renovated and provide comfortable accommodation with lots of character. They are well furnished with old Breton and traditional modern furniture. Each Cottage has a wood-burning stove in the living room and electric heaters in the bedrooms. Making them ideal should you wish to enjoy an Autumn / Winter break.

Outside:

Surrounding the cottages on three sides is a large communal garden. There is a large walled and laurel-hedged area of grass with a gate where children can play safely. Garden furniture is provided for each cottage and there is a solid fuel barbecue.

The owners have made every effort to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday in one of our pretty cottages in this peaceful hamlet.

Ty-er-Yar (takes its name from the Breton for 'the chicken house').

The accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor:

• Living/kitchen area - an open plan room with a massive granite fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Plenty of kitchen equipment is provided. There is a dining table with chairs and a settee and armchairs. A radio / tape / CD player is provided.

First Floor:

• Double bedroom
• Twin bedroom
• Shower room - with toilet and wash basin

Pretty French doors lead onto the back garden from the first floor landing.

There is a shared washing-machine and freezer with 'Les Tournesols' in the separate laundry room. With secure storage for bikes if required. A cot and highchair are available.

About the location

Many local towns and villages have markets and these are particularly colourful and interesting in the summer months.

Slightly further afield is the magnificent Lake Guerledan, set amid deep forest and perfect for swimming and sailing.

The town of Vannes is a lively place with plenty to see and close to beaches.

Lorient hosts the annual Inter-Celtic festival – a spectacular event of music and dance. Boats go from Lorient to the Ile de Groix.

There are plenty of beaches to choose from within an hour's drive.

The whole area is steeped in history and there are pre-historic alignments of standing stones in many locations but the Carnac stones are world-famous and should not be missed.
