A charming house with its own private walled garden set in the heart of Sancerre which is an ancient walled town set high on the hill in one of France's best loved wine growing regions.

Outside:

There is good quality garden furniture down in the cave, which can be used to store purchases!  The garden is very pretty, south facing and the gates can be closed making it safe for children.

The house, which has been recently completely refurbished, is light and airy yet cosy. It is fully heated and there are logs for the fire in winter.

About the location

Sancerre is a mediaeval hill top village, and Chez Langley is set in the historic heart of it. You can walk to several excellent restaurants and sample the local wines on offer. You have all the advantages of being in the village with its many amenities, and at the same time enjoy stunning rural views over the vineyards from several vantage points dotted around. The historic towns of Bourges and Nevers are within easy driving distance. There are numerous chateaux to visit. Wine growers welcome visitors to tastings.

How to get here

Sancerre is about an hour and a half south of Paris, and a very easy drive, all on one fold of the map, from the Channel Ports.  Paris Charles de Gaulle is the main airport from the UK. You can travel to Cosne Cours sur Loire by train and take a taxi from there to the village.  Chez Langley is between Place St Andre and Nouvelle Place
