Home description

Les Petits Vacances is a traditional stone built gite situated within pretty countryside, overlooking a lovely valley and a few minutes walk from an enchanting river. The area is renowned for its rolling countryside, summer maize and sunflowers.

The cottage is ideal for families and is part of a renovated stone farmhouse (dating back to 1898) Where the owners live with their children. The owners are always available to give information and any assistance that may be required.

Outside

Directly outside is a safe, drive through parking area and a petanque pitch. The garden, which is very open, looks out over the beautiful countryside. In the garden is a shady pergola where it is perfect to sit on a warm evening. From the garden is separate access to the safe secluded swimming pool measuring 8m x 5m and is 1m and 2m depths. If you choose to have a late pool side barbecue, you will see some wonderful sunsets.

The open plan interior

The cottage comprises:

• An open plan living/dining room with a fully fitted corner kitchen.

Upstairs has wooden floors and a tiled bathroom:

• A modern shower room
• Two bright airy bedrooms (double and triple). Both have uninterrupted views across the valley.

You will find a welcome pack on your arrival, and all linen is included (except towels).
To add to your comfort we have installed English television (free sky channels).

About the location

Historic Luçon is 10kms away, and is known for its Cathedral, topiary gardens and weekly market, it also has a large selection of restaurants and large hypermarkets.

Chantonnay (14kms) with a beautiful lake, small safe beach and restaurants around the lake.

Fontenay Le Comte (14kms) with its river running through it, used to be the vendees capital. It's a busy town which has retained it's quaintness of times past.

La-roche-sur-Yon (30kms) is a large town, and is the Vendees answer to Paris! It offers a variety of everything, bars, shops, boutiques and restaurants in safe pedestrian precincts. Also larger shopping centres and hypermarkets, and right in the middle of centre you can find a summer fair at the drop of a coin.

La Rochelle is a favourite of many people, it is lively, very pretty and the atmosphere is second to none. The harbour side restaurants are reasonably priced with good food.  The airport is here with Ryanair and Flybe making daily fleights.

How to get here

• Le petit St Linaire is well situated and is easy to find, with the A83 autoroute and the RN137 nearby, the exit is approx ten minutes away by car.
• The port of St Malo is a 3 hour drive away.
• La Rochelle airport is 40 minutes away.
• Nantes and Potiers are also within easy access.
