Home description

Combe de Chabe is a fully restored stone built house on two floors. It stands in approximately 4 acres of meadowland with a wooded valley, and is approached by a private lane. Whilst being completely private, the property is approximately 3 km by road from the small bastide town of Montaigue de Quercy, with all basic amenities, or a 20 minutes walk through the wooded valley from the house.

The property is maintained by a local manager (English) who is available to help with any problems or queries which may arise.

The house itself comprises:

• Large kitchen with gas cooker and dishwashing machine (both new) and a large French farm house table with seating for 6. Full equipment for cooking and eating is supplied. There is an adjacent utility room equipped with a washing machine, fridge, a large chest freezer and ample storage shelves. Instructions are posted on the operation of all machines.
• Bathroom with shower.
• Separate toilet.
• Light, airy sitting room with tall windows and beamed ceiling. It is equipped with a wood burning stove and electric heating radiators. The furniture consists of comfortable armchairs and settees, and an extending dining table to seat 6. There is a TV set up to receive BBC satellite transmissions, a DVD player, and a radio/CD/Tape player, with a selection of CDs, tapes ,DVD`s and books.

First floor

• Second large bathroom.
• Master bedroom with a double bed, with ample drawer and hanging space.
• 2 smaller bedrooms each with 2 single beds with drawers, wardrobes etc.

There is an outside rectangular pool size 10m. by 5m. with Roman steps, tiled surround and grass verges. An approved electronic safety detector has recently been installed.

There are two tiled patio areas, one on each side of the house with tables, chairs and parasols for relaxing, eating etc. and reclining chairs with mattresses for outside relaxation.

About the location

There is much of interest in the area including small towns and villages with historic interest, chateaux, local markets, etc. There is a large folder in the house with useful information on local amenities, places to visit and things to do.

Montaigu de Quercy has two supermarkets, a bank, and a good range of general shops, including boulangerie, charcuterie, hairdresser, pharmacy, travel agent, restaurants etc.

How to get here

Toulouse International airport is approximately one and a quarter hours drive from the property whilst Bergerac is closer at 45 minutes drive.
