Fully renovated, former estate workers' cottage situated in the heart of a 100 acre, award-winning vineyard, La Petite is set on the brow of a hill surrounded by vines and woodland, offering unbroken views of the countryside towards the Pyrenees.

 

 

Accommodation detail

The accommodation consists of :

• Living area: polished wood floor with rugs.
• Lounge is furnished with lamps, comfy sofas and chairs and has a TV and CD/DVD player and English satellite TV. An extensive DVD/CD and book library is available to our guests together with a wide range of toys for our younger guests, there's an ipod doc so that guests can bring their own music.
• Kitchen/dining area: Large, bright farmhouse style kitchen refitted in 2011. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and stainless steel hob, microwave and fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Every care has been taken to provide a wide range of crockery, glasses and kitchen equipment for gourmet or family meals. A table and 6 chairs are located in the centre of the dining area. 2 electric heaters. A washing machine, iron and ironing board are provided.
• 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom.  All rooms furnished with antique bedsteads with firm UK mattresses! Bedrooms have polished wood floors, rugs, lamps, wardrobes many pieces are traditional Gascon furniture found at local markets and Brocantes. Each bedroom is fitted with an electric heater.
• 2 Sparkling white tiled shower rooms with power showers. Both are equipped with large mirrors, lots of lights and plenty of storage for those jars of lotions and potions. Both bathrooms have tiled floors. Each bathroom is fitted with an electric heater.

A cot, high chair and other baby equipment is available and a stairgate can be provided and is easily fitted.

Outside

The garden is completely fenced (again for the benefit of our younger guests). Garden furniture includes table and chairs. There is a large covered terrace with power and lights along the length of the house, with original BBQ chimney.

Domaine de Lauroux covers 100 acres and offers miles of walks through meadows and woodland. A large grassed area, situated below the house, is perfect for family games and a recently-installed childrens' play area with trampoline and swings.

There is a 5 x 11m rectangular pool overlooking the vineyard, with 3m Roman steps, surrounded by large tiled terrace with chairs, tables, parasols and loungers. It is enclosed by a secure fence and self-closing gate to meet French regulations. Behind the pool are numerous trees offering additional shade.

We offer a welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, milk, juice, butter, fresh bread or croissants and of course Domaine de Lauroux wines.

About the location

Domaine de Lauroux is 2km from the village of Manciet, situated between Nogaro and Eauze in the heart of the Gers. The area offers visitors the opportunity to explore the cities of Auch, Agen, Toulouse and Bordeaux. There are numerous festivals including "Jazz in Marciac" in August , Temp Latino at Vic-Fezensac in July and the annual country music festival at Mirande in July.  Many local towns and villages host their annual fetes during the months of July and August.  These are very low key, friendly events allowing guests the opportunity to experience French country life at its very best.

There are daily markets to visit around the area, with an abundance of wonderful fruit, vegetables, cheeses and wines to sample.

The proximity to the Spanish border allows our guests to easily visit the Pays-Basques and the South West coast towns of St-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz.  A drive of approximately 90 minutes allows guest to sample the wonderful sandy beaches of the Landes coast.

How to get here

Domaine de Lauroux is 90 Minutes hours from Toulouse airport (Easyjet, BA and Jet 2 flights), 2 hours from Bordeaux airport (BMI Baby and Eastjet flights), 80 minutes from Tarbes airport (Ryanair flights) and 3 hours from Bergerac airport (Ryanair and BMI Baby flights).  For guests who want to drive to Lauroux, we are approximately 11 hours from Calais, 3 hours from the port of Santander in Spain.
