With easy access to Bergerac, Perigueux and Sarlat, La Joubertie is a haven of peace and tranquillity surrounded by 9 acres of park and woodland in the very heart of the Dordogne. The original Perigordian barn has been tastefully converted into 2 gites (1 & 2 bedrooms) and one bed & breakfast room, carefully combining the original features with modern conveniences.

We enjoy a peaceful countryside environment with the market town of Vergt conveniently near. What could be better? This is a comfortable base to relax and recharge your batteries away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas - yet within easy reach of all the major attractions.

Accommodation detail

The gite is a wonderful Perigordian barn that has been tastefully renovated, keeping many of the original features but with a high standard of modern convenience.  Sleeps four people very comfortably.  See our website for even more information and photographs.

La Joubertie gite consists of a large lounge, two spacious bedrooms with luxury en-suite shower rooms and a kitchen.

• Lounge is a bright, airy with a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs plus a full size colour TV with satellite (Sky Freeview channels) and a DVD player, which also plays CDs.  We do provide a selection of DVDs but don’t forget to bring your favourites!  Wifi access available. There is also a collection of English books and magazines.  In addition to the main entrance, the lounge also has a rear door that leads onto a large private paved and shaded patio, complete with barbecue, garden table and chairs. 
• Just imagine relaxing in the sun, reading or simply looking out onto the sparkling blue water of the pool and the scenic views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
• Kitchen is small but beautifully formed and fitted. It leads off from the lounge and includes a gas hob, combination microwave with convection oven and grill, fridge with small freezer and all the other usual equipment you would expect to find in a kitchen in order to whip up a delicious meal!
• Two great sized bedrooms - one double and one twin bedroom - both with original beams, stylish decoration and furniture.  Each bedroom has its own en suite shower room with a luxury shower, vanity unit with basin and WC. A peaceful and tranquil environment to come home to after a heavy day sightseeing or golfing!

• Both rooms have radio alarms and hairdryers.
• A cot and baby bed linen is available on request free of charge.
• A washing machine is available for occasional use, no charge.
• Iron and ironing board provided.
• A fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke alarm are installed for added safety.
• A barbecue is available on the patio but there is also a large BBQ on site for bigger groups. 
• Boules, badminton and tennis rackets are available at no extra charge.
• Each bedroom has a clothes drier and pegs.
• All accommodation is “No Smoking” but ashtrays are available in outside areas.

The swimming pool has stunning views of our parkland and is equipped with a safety fence conforming to French safety law, which provides peace of mind and privacy. Although the pool is not heated, the warm Dordogne sun warms the pool to a luscious 28 degrees!  Perfect for cooling down after gently sunning yourself!

Sun loungers, cushions, garden tables and chairs plus parasols are, of course, provided on the poolside.  Just imagine lounging around in the sun, taking in the views and sipping that cold drink – heaven!

We are surrounded by beautiful woods and parkland that give you the peace and quiet you may crave for a holiday but within easy each of local shops, markets and the very best the region has to offer.

• Bergerac – 40 mins
• Bordeaux – approx 2 hours
  (Both with low cost flights from London, Birmingham, East Midlands, Liverpool, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol) 
• Limoges – approx. 2 hours
• Brive – One hour

Car Hire Available at airports and it is essential to have a car.

Road

• Calais – 10 hours
• Paris - 5 hours
• Toulouse - 3 hours

Other	We are fortunate to be surrounded by woods, parkland and the countryside all of which provide ample opportunity to spot the local wild life.  Buzzards, woodpeckers, hoopoes and herons to name but a few common birds, wild deer and sometimes even a wildboar or two! There are also a plethora of wild flowers depending on the season, of course. We also endeavour to make our gardens surrounding the immediate property a riot of colour, again season dependent!! We also have a big BBQ which is very useful if you come as a bigger group - fantastically reminiscent of camp fires and sing songs!

Additional price information

• Prices are per week, Saturday to Saturday arriving after 4pm, departing before 10am.
• £100 discount per week if only one bedroom required (April-June & September – October only).  Ideal for couples.
• If heating is required in March, 50 Euro supplement is required.
