Château de la Vigne offers excellent self catering accommodation with a wide range of facilities and is ideally situated for exploring the many wonderful delights of the Loire Valley or simply relaxing on-site!  We are situated in the delightful village of Concourson-sur-Layon, surrounded by fields and quiet country lanes. The market town of Doue-La-Fontaine nearby has many restaurants/shops and a famous zoo. 

Group gatherings are well catered for as we have four properties available for rent either individually or all together; The Chateau, sleeps 12-14, Coach House, sleeps 10, Farm Cottage, sleeps 4-5 and in addition we have an apartment, sleeps 4-5.

On site facilities include a shared 12m x 6m floodlit heated swimming pool, set in secure walled garden with terrace. There is a games room with pool table and table tennis as well a a range of bicycles in varying sizes. A washing machine is available and bed linen, cots, high chairs and barbecues are provided - all free of charge. Young children are more than welcome and are well catered for with many toys, games/books and bicycles.

5 bedrooms, sleeps 12/14 + cots

The 19th Century Château, sleeping 12-14, offers spacious and luxurious accommodation. It is elegantly furnished and fully equipped to the highest standards, whilst retaining its original charm and is perfect for large groups of friends or family. There is a wonderful mature garden offering plenty of privacy as well as an orchard to explore and parking for several cars.

Ground Floor:

• Entrance - large and welcoming
• Kitchen - large luxury fully fitted farmhouse kitchen, equipped for large groups including microwave/dishwasher and
• Separate utility room with washing machine and ironing facilities and
• Downstairs cloakroom
• Reception room 1 - with TV and video
• Reception room 2 - with an extensive range of books and games/toys for your enjoyment and relaxation.

First Floor:

• Bedroom 1 - large room with double bed and en-suite shower room
• Bedroom 2 - large room with twin beds and en-suite shower room
• Bedroom 3 - large family suite comprising a double bed, sofa bed and ensuite bathroom.

Second Floor:

• Bedroom 4 - large suite with fabulous king size bed
• Bedroom 5 - large four-bedded room – ideal for kids/friends sharing
• Bathroom - large luxury room with jacuzzi bath, separate shower and dressing area.

Outside:

There are extensive private gardens with tables/chairs, sun loungers and barbecue facilities.

About the location

Chateau de la Vigne is situated in the delightful village of Concourson-sur-Layon, which has a boulangerie and small restaurant. A mere 5mins drive away, you will find the market town of Doue-La-Fontaine which boasts the only zoo of its kind, dug out of the old quarries of the region.  There are also many restaurants to choose from.

20 mins drive away, the town of Saumur situated along its Royal river, with its strong equestrian traditions, a wonderul chateau and many shops and restaurants, all contribute to its international reputation. We are ideally situated to visit the many fabulous chateaux in the area as well as many of the famous tourist attractions of the Loire Valley.  Puy de Fou and Futuroscope are both within very easy access.

How to get here

• Chateau de la Vigne is easily accessible by car from all ports and Paris with motorway connections almost all the way. 
  • Calais - 5 hours 
  • Cherbourg - 5 hours                  
  • Roscoff - 4.5 hours
  • Le Havre - 4 hours
  • Caen - 3.5 hours
  • Paris - 3 hours                      
• The TGV provides fast access from Paris and there is a direct TGV connection from Charles de Gaule airport to Angers. Car Hire is easily available from Angers.
• Ryan Air flies from Stanstead to Tours/Poitiers, both of which are approxmately 1.5hrs away. Car Hire is easily available from both airports and can be pre-arranged.

Additional price information

• All prices are per week, Saturday to Friday and are inclusive of bed linen and use of all facilities.
• We also have an apartment, sleeping 4-5, providing extra on-site accommodation, which is ideal in addition to the Chateau, Coach House or Farm Cottage. Please enquire for details.
• Towel hire is available at 7.50 euros per set, payable on arrival. Each set includes one large bath sheet, one hand towel and one large pool towel.
• We can provide a shopping service so that provisions are available in your property when you arrive. 
• Transport can be arranged to and from the airports or train stations. Please enquire.
