Dinard Holiday Apartment Near Beach and Town Centre
Situated in a quiet residential street in the centre of Dinard, a short walk 800 metres from beaches, the local market and other amenities, this is a perfect holiday location. Easily reached by car or public transport, Dinard itself has plenty to offer, but also serves as an excellent base from which to explore the sights of Northern Brittany. When not out and about, guests will benefit from the privacy of the secluded courtyard – great for families and couples alike.

The apartment has a unique situation - although located at the heart of Dinard with the open-air market a 2-minute walk away, the main beach a 5-10 minute stroll away and shops/restaurants in abundance, its quiet residential street and secluded enclosed courtyard offers peace and tranquillity - a welcome interlude from the many activities and amenities which are yours to choose from.
Eating - in or out? The choice is yours.
If you wish to cook for yourself, why not treat yourself to the unique experience of shopping at the traditional open-air market just a two-minute walk down the road, or take advantage of the local well-stocked supermarket, just round the corner from the apartment?
Of course, you may prefer to choose from the large selection of cafés/restaurants, which are only a 5-10 min. walk away.
This unique seaside resort, with its magnificent buildings and charming ambience, enjoys a lovely setting at the mouth of the river Rance, directly opposite Saint Malo. The possibilities of its fine sheltered beaches, and the attraction of the scenery, were first realised by an American about 1850, and were developed by the British. With the influx of tourists, a small fishing village on the site grew rapidly into a spacious town, as hotels and villas, gardens and parks, were planned and constructed.
The main beach (la Plage de l'écluse) lies in a safe, sandy bay where, apart from the fine beach, you will also find the casino, an indoor heated salt-water swimming pool and several cafés/bars. Walks can be taken from here in both directions along the coastline, providing you with wonderful panoramas of sea and landscape.
To the left you will reach Saint Enogat, which has its own fine beach. To the right, you will come across the Promenade au Clair de Lune, a walk along the seawall following the water's edge until it reaches the Plage du Prieuré (Priory Beach), so called from the 14th century priory, of which a few ruins can still be seen.
Near La Page du Prieuré there is a charming mini golf course and a beautiful park, Port Breton, which has a "chateau" in the centre and offers a keep-fit track for the more energetically-inclined.
Exploring the Surrounding Area
There are many interesting and historical places to visit within a short distance of Dinard, making it an ideal base for discovering North Brittany. Here are but a few:
The impressive walled town of St Malo, a mere 10-minute boat-trip away, or 20 mins. car journey; Mont Saint Michel, less than 50 minutes away by car; the beautiful mediaeval town of Dinan, less than a half-hour away by car; the coastline to the West of Dinard, strewn with beautiful beaches; Jersey and Guernsey, which are a short ferry crossing away; Cancale, the renowned fishing village and seafood centre, less than half an hour away.
You will find other suggested outings in an information folder at the apartment and the well-stocked Tourist Information Centre can easily be visited on your walk down to the beach.

How To Get To Dinard in Ille-et-Vilaine, North West France
Dinard is very easy to get to, either with or without a car, making it ideal for a short break (please enquire about availability) or a lazy Winter week, as well as a Summer holiday. It is only about 10 minutes away from Dinard airport, which has daily flights from Luton. Either hire a car to explore the beautiful surrounding area of North Brittany or be picked up from the airport and transported to your accommodation for £25.00 per trip (max. 4 people).
Alternatively, sail to any one of the ports that are along the North Brittany coastline and bring your car with you. The port of Saint Malo is only 15 mins. away, Caen 2 hours, Cherbourg 2 ½ hours, Le Havre 2 ½ hours and Roscoff 3 hours (all times are approximate).
