This new build, spacious villa, is situated 700 metres from the vendee blue flag beaches and 150 metres from lush pine forest, which has many walking trails including some which lead to the beach. A 10 minute walk will take you into the village of St Vincent-Sur-Jard, or the town and port of Jard-Sur-Mer, depending on which way you walk, and both have tourist information offices.
There are several first class bakeries providing wonderful freshly baked baguettes and a large Super U supermarket two minutes drive away.
The house is situated in a quiet rural residential area offering peace and tranquillity, yet a 10 minute walk into town will offer you a wide variety of shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. There is a lively nightlife at the harbour area with free entertainment every night during the summer months.
St Vincent-sur-Jard is famous for having the seaside residence of former French President Georges Clemenceau. The villa and gardens are open to the public and the house is still as it was when he lived there.
The villa comprises:
A south facing rear garden, large partly covered patio, enclosed with balustrade, private fully enclosed garden, with locking garden gate, palm trees, olive tree, and lawn, of nearly 700 square metres. Also a large chimney style barbecue, table and chairs and sun lounges and cushions.
The Vendee has 140 km of fine white sandy beaches. It is known as the "Cote de Lumiere " - the coast of light - renowned for its luminosity and unpolluted water. It has its own micro climate, due to the gulf stream, giving similar sunshine and warm temperatures as the south of France.
Also the vendee hosts many golf courses, some having the sea as a calming backdrop, and there is also a very reasonable Vendee discount card available, allowing you to play five local courses.
The Vendee hosts many colourful markets, one or more each day, in different towns in the area, for selling local produce from clothes to local cheeses and foods. You can also go on a boat trip to the famous Fort Boyard, although you can't go on the fort - the boat will take you around the outside to see it.
There are many other excursions and the famous Vendee Globe yacht race sets off and finishes from the Vendee cost.
There are also numerous museums and other activities to partake in.
So whether you are looking for a quiet or lively holiday, this villa and the Vendee area can accommodate your needs.

By car:
Use the ferries from the U.K. to the ports of St Malo, Caen, or Cherbourg. Driving times are three hours from St Malo, and four and a half from Caen, on easy driving and excellent roads and motorways.
By air
You can fly to La Rochelle with Ryanair or Flybe, pick up a hire car, and it is then a one and a half hour drive. You could also fly to Nantes with Ryanair and it is about the same travel time.
